Alyssa's POV:

"Come on!" My sister Treeana yelled to me. "Let's go!"

I got my bike out of the garage. "Coming!" I yelled to her. I got on my bike and pedaled fast to catch up to her.

"Eighteen year olds aren't supposed to be that slow," she protested at me.

"Slow?" I said, "fine then, we'll race around the block. Ready? Set? Go!" I pedaled as fast as I could.

"Wait!" I heard Treeana yell from behind. "Wait! I don't want to race!"

I pedaled faster and faster. Finally, I reached the corner of the block. I saw our house up ahead. I turned my gears down to seven, not just to let my little sister catch up, but to make my legs work harder. I pedaled faster, and faster! And finally made it to our house I quickly grabbed the brakes. I could hear my tires squealing. I stopped. I was about an inch from hitting the garage door. I was lucky. My mom would of been pissed if I made a dent. I got off my bike to see where Treeana was. She was just turning the corner. Behind my bike, were skid marks from the tires.

Finally Treeana reached the house. She looked exhausted. I gave her a funny look. "Twelve year olds aren't supposed to be that slow,"

Her nose scrunched up and she mumbled, "They can be."

We both went into the house. I was about to sit on the couch until my mom yelled my name. "Alyssa! Get over here young lady!"

I walked over there wondering what I did wrong this time. "What mom?" I asked.

"You have to take your pills."

I gave her a tired look. "Do I have to? It's not like I have a problem?"

She shook her head. "No, take it sweetie."

I moaned at her on my way to the bathroom.

"It helps with your cancer honey," she told me. "If you don't want to take it, don't. But don't say it's my fault when your dying."

I moaned again. I went into the bathroom and closed the door. I opened the cabinet behind the mirror, and reached for my pills. I looked at them. Studied them. Then I put them back. "I won't die," I thought to myself. I ran the water, just in case my mom was out side the door. Then I turned it off. I opened the door and headed for the couch again. I sat down, turned on the news, and checked my phone for the latest One Direction updates on twitter.

"Alyssa!" My mother called for me again.

I slapped my phone on the couch. "Coming mom!" Like all teenagers, I didn't come right away. I stayed on the couch watching all of the boys on their first Xfactor auditions. About fifteen minutes later, my mother walked into the living room yelling at me to go do the dishes. I stomped into the kitchen and grabbed a plate from the rack. I next grabbed a towel and soaked it with warm water. I started cleansing the back of the plate when my image started to get blurry. I tried to ignore it, but it just got worse. I felt my heart pound out of my chest, in a painful way. The next image was black.
