I am 16 and my tattoo has never colored in, I sometimes wonder if it ever will. I can't quite make the picture but I hope I find out soon. I always imagine a perfect man that will share the tat with me.

I am not that picky of a girl, I just hope he has a good soul. Most guys Ive liked have already found a tatnin. My friends say the guys I think are attractive aren't that good looking, but I beg to differ. I look at what's on the inside. The personality of a man is what makes me grow to like him. Everything about them I love about them.

Three of my friends have found their tatnins, and practically the entire high school. I heard it used to take a long time for people to find theirs, but with how much technology has taken over, people have been finding their 'true love' left and right. Except me of course. Its is becoming hard to cope with. I sometimes think, what if he was born in a different country and we never meet? I'll be all alone with my simple half done black tattoo. While Katie and her boyfriend Rick's tatoos are colored so beautifully, they almost look aqua. I swear their eyes are different colors too.

I remember when I was little and my tattoo was just showing up. The ink wasn't so clear, I asked my parents what was happening and they told me that when you grow older a picture forms on your skin, like a tattoo. The picture is half finished until you get closer to the love of your life, the picture finishes and the ink changes color. But if you get to far away the ink disappears, or goes really dark black. But once you're together they're colored all sorts of beautiful. Aqua, which is the strongest love, any color is just love, and black is haven't found love yet. The tattoos outlines are the only thing that is colored, so it just looks like a black and white coloring book's picture, except the lines are colored and the insides aren't. I asked when my parents had met and how, but they just told me that they were lucky and lived in the same town.

I can't wait for school to be over. It's so stressful and I hate when tatnin's have already found each other because they're so colorful and it makes me feel dull.

"Astrix!" My best friend Katie called to me from across the parking lot. "Hey Astrix, wait up!" She said, jogging up to my side. "Oh hey, what's up?" I asked smiling. "So Rick and I did something last night." She gushed.
"Oh really now?" I say intrigued, my eyebrows raising. "Yea. We shared our first kiss, and it was absolutely breath taking, It felt like my tat was gonna burst off my skin," She said as she touched her neck where hers was located. "That's really great." I grieved, and walked away.

I felt rude for doing so, but it's just not fair how she can tell me all these stories about the love of her life, when I'm forever alone with no one.
I wonder what their tat together is. Everyone's are different, they could be on the neck, like Katie's and Rick's. They can be anywhere from on their arm, wrist, leg, foot, ankle, sometimes even face. Anywhere imaginable, and I was lucky my enough to have my tat cover most of my entire body. Except my face thank god, the swirls and designs all come up my neck, but stop right before my face. There are only lines and swishes everywhere and something that looks like a boat on my hip. I sometimes connect the lines with pen and color it with marker, but it has never looked right.

School is over, I'm at home sitting under my old thinking tree on a swing my grandpa made for my dad when he was a kid. I come here most days to let my mind cool. I felt a buzz in my pocket, I opened my phone and seen that Katie texted me.

"Hey, is something wrong?" She asks.

"No, I'm fine, thank you though." I texted back "a lot on my mind." Which was partially the truth. I am not fine, I am jealous and upset.

"Well if its about you not finding the one yet, I promise you will soon," she comforted.

"Yeah, right," I laughed to myself.
