The Last Battle

Chapter 3

" Finally, some peace and quiet." I went up to my rooftop and took off my jacket. I set it down beside me and watched the sunrise over the desert once more. I leaned back and relaxed as I started to drift off. I let all of my stress just disappear as I closed my eyes, but once my eyes were shut, I saw someone. It was the Mutt and Pup. I was watching them through the shadows in her room and they were talking to each other. " She isn't that bad, you know."
    " Well then why is she always so... aggressive towards me?"
    He tried to jump into her bed, but he fell back down because he couldn't reach, " That's just the way she is towards Eclipse. They are best friends. They act aggressive towards each other, but they both know it's all just fun and games. Pardon me, but would you mind helping me up?"
    She smiled then picked him up and put him on the bed, " Why does she have to act that way towards me though instead of just Eclipse?" Am I really that aggressive towards her? Pup lied down on her pillow, " Well, she is the alpha so she can't really afford to be nice to people she just met. Don't worry Issalia, once she gets to know you, she won't be so harsh. Now, get some rest before you have to leave for school." She lied down next to him and I opened my eyes. " The Mutt has feelings huh? That's the first. Well, I'm not going to go easy on her because of them so she better learn get over it or there is going to be more aggression." Once the sun was up, it was time for me to get ready for school. Time for a shower, I still smell like rotting flesh so I mine as well.

The hot water always feels nice on my open wounds and old scars. Just to feel the water slowly going down my body and over the wounds, it's the most satisfy thing you can feel, especially when you are half dead and you always feel cold inside. After I was done with the shower, I changed into my school clothes, but as I was changing, I got a strange feeling someone was watching me. I growl a little and I closed my eyes then I opened them. " I can sense you."
    " You are no fun, Sweetheart." I growled, but that soon stopped when I turned around. " Jacob!" I went over to hug him and he hugged me back. " Long time no see, Sweety." I growled then I punched him in the arm then I went over to where my pants were. " I told you not to call me that."
    He chuckled, " Sorry Sweetheart. I just love to tease you."
    I put my pants on then I mumbled under my breath, " Keep it up, see where that will get you." I started to make my way downstairs. I was on my way to the door, but unfortunately, Jacob beat me to the door. Stupid Fire Walkers and their teleportation through light. " Where are you headed?" I rolled my eyes and pushed him out of the way then I opened the door. " School." I closed it behind me and left, but as I was locking it, he put his hand on my shoulder. " Let me at least walk you."
    I rolled my eyes, " Fine." I smirked and we walked to school. I did enjoy talking to Jacob, even when we were pups, but it was always forbidden to talk to each other so we would always have to talk and play in secret. One day though, our parents found out and... things changed since then. Anyways, I finally made it to the school. " Well, here we are, Jacob. I'll see you later?" He smiled at me and scratched behind my ear, my one weak spot. I closed my eyes as I enjoyed the feeling of him scratching behind my ears and if I had my tail showing it would be wagging, " See you later, Natalia." He disappeared once I opened my eyes. I turned around and I made my way to class. Blah blah blah school stuff just so boring blah blah blah. Okay finally, lunchtime. I sat alone like I usually, but instead of just messing with my claws or eating, I watched the Mutt. I started to get a strange feeling about her. My eyes widened, " Eclipse..." I got up and went over to her quickly. I grabbed her hand and took her out of the cafeteria. " Hey wait, where are you taking me?" I just kept going until we were outside of the school then I let go of her hand as my eyes turned to my wolf eyes and started to sniff her up and down, making sure everything was alright. " Uh, what are you doing?" Strange, I got a weird feeling that Eclipse wa up to something. I stopped smelling her and my eyes went back to normal as I blushed ever so slightly. She was probably just talking to Eclipse. " Nothing. It was nothing. Sorry."

I cleared my throat then I started to walked away, “ Is everything alright, Alpha?”

I turned to face her, but I kept walking backwards, “ Everything’s fine just get to class.” I went back inside and made my way to the next class. Blah blah blah more school things blah blah blah... Okay end of the school day. I was surprised who I saw waiting for me. Jacob was waiting for me, leaned up against the school building. " Well, well, look who actually cares."
    I smirk and he chuckled, " I’ve always cared. You are just clueless to have realized it." I rolled my eyes and made my way back home with him. Day two complete. Night three begins. I just talked with Jacob the whole time since on our way back to my place and I completely lost track of time. I always seem to do that when I am talking with Jacob. " Oh crap um… if you will excuse me Jacob, I really must get going. You can stay here if you would like, but I really have to go. I uh... it really great seeing you again." I made my way to the door in a hurry. " Okay well see you-," I volted before he could finish his sentence. I have the tendency of doing that. Anyways, I rushed my way to her house, but she was already gone so I went to the town and there she was... with Pup nonetheless. He was in his wolf form and Eclipse was playing with him. I went over to them, " Sorry I'm late. I got... distracted."
    She chuckled, " By that guy you were with?"
    I froze up, " I… don't know what you are talking about. Now, can we please get on with your training. We didn't train yesterday so you have more training for today. Pup, you can join in if you would like."
    He nodded, " Of course I would. I love hunting with you." I smiled then I pet him. " I'll meet you two at the mountains." I watched him run off and not even in a blink of an eye, he was gone. " Hey Alpha, what was that during lunch? Why did you sniff me?" I froze up again then I grabbed the back of my neck and blushed again. " Uh... It was nothing Mutt, now come, best not keep Pup waiting."
    She put her hand on my shoulder, stopping me from getting ready to run, " Why do you call him Pup? Yeah I get the fact that he takes the form of a puppy, but I have a feeling there is more to it." Just the thought of it made me a little sad. I betrayed Pup and it a secret for so long and once I finally told him, I could tell his heart was broken. I can't tell her, not yet. " Now is not the time for questions." I brushed her off of my shoulder. " We have a lot of work to do and not a lot of time so let's go." I turned into my wolf form and made my way to the mountain. The training went one, but it was nothing really exciting. Just hunting down animals and learning to sneak as well as teamwork and fending for yourself which is what we were suppose to do yesterday. I had Pup fight with Eclipse. She is going to need a lot of work. Training complete. Few bruises here and there, but she will be fine as well as Pup. He wanted to fight me as a wolf and as human and he did surprise me. He can change his wolf form to an adult wolf whenever he shall please which was quite... interesting. Anyway, the night was coming to an end so it was time to head home. I walked the two back to Issalia's place, said my goodbyes and left. I went to the rooftop like always, but this time Jacob was there. I smiled and I sat down next to him. " Hey, you're back."
    I shoved his a little with my shoulder in a playful way, " Well yeah I live here, why wouldn't I be back?" I smirked as he rolled his eyes. It was... nice having him there with me. We just watched the sunrise and I closed my eyes to check on the other two. "... Yeah, but why does she call me Mutt then?"
    Pup chuckled, " Is that what she calls you? Oh madam, it's not a bad thing to be called a Mutt. It just means you are different from everyone else in a good way. She likes things that are different, things that are a new challenge for her. If you wanted to call you something mean, she would have called you a Runt." I opened my eyes, they seem to be doing just fine. " Checking in on your little pup, Richard?"
    I looked at him confused, " Huh, how did you-"
    He looked at me and smiled, " You get this special smile on your face when you do just like when you see someone you like."
    My eyes widened and I blushed a little, " What, I do not! Shut up you!" I pushed him a little and he laughed. Night three complete. Day three begins.
