Y/N's POV:
Let's go back to before this all started.
It was a lovely spring day. The birds were chirping, the sun was shining, the cherry blossoms were blooming. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better start to my day. There was even milk left in the refrigerator for my cereal. So there I sat, happily eating my Cheerios and basking in the loveliness that was my morning.
I heard a crash come from outside, and went out to investigate the noise.
I looked down. To see a what looked like a smashed terra cotta plant pot. Then up, to see the source of the destruction, and a face I was not too surprised to see.
"Nice going, Namjoon. How'd you manage to break something this early in the morning?"
He grinned sheepishly down at me.
"I didn't mean to! It just...slipped." He defended himself.
I laughed.
"Well, you're cleaning it up not me so whatever. Byeeee Namjoon."
You turned to go back into your apartment. Half to go finish getting ready for the day, and half to avoid getting hit by whatever Namjoon would accidentally throw down next.
"Wait! Since you're already out here, I am in desperate need of new jeans and I need to go shopping today...wanna come with?" Namjoon asked hopefully.
"Sure..." you narrowed your eyes. "but what happened to your other pair?"
"...well you see, I was trying to light the stove, but I didn't think the fire would get THAT big, so I-"
"Yeah, okay I get it, you burnt them. Honestly Namjoon, sometimes I wonder how you're even alive."
He sighed heavily. "Me too.
"Me three," a deep voice piped up from the balcony one over and below mine.
"Oh hey Tae, what are you doing up this early? Don't you usually sleep till 9 on Saturdays?"
He shrugged his shoulders. "Eh, it's only like half an hour earlier anyways, and besides, I thought maybe if I watered my plants earlier in the morning, they wouldn't die."
Both Namjoon and I stared at him.
"Taehyung...honey, your plants are already dead."
"And?"
"And so they're not coming back alive."
Namjoon nodded from his upper balcony.
"Have you ever thought about a succulent plant garden? They're easier to manage...less likely to die."
Tae shook his head stubbornly.
"I've had this lifelong dream of being a magical gardener with a plant for everything and so help me, I will do so! My parents always told me I couldn't be, but they also told me I couldn't be gay, and look where I am now. Y'all better believe I'll be the most magical, mystical, fly-as-hell gardener there ever was, and no one will get in my way!"
He narrowed his eyes at us accusingly. "No one."
Even Namjoon looked scared. And I backed into my apartment slowly, hoping to escape unnoticed.
"That's right, Y/N, you walk away."
Welp. There goes that plan.
I hummed as I safely made it into my apartment and turned around.
Everything was normal.
