Operation Outbreak was a success, we destroyed the nests and extracted whatever the hell space thingy that started all this. We were on the plane ride back, with Ela sleeping next to me. Smoke tapped my shoulder and I looked back at him. He pointed to Ela and made a gesture suggesting I put my arm around her. I blushed, but I did put my arm around her.
"What took you so long?" I heard her mumble, as she snuggled with me.
"This." I showed her my drawing of her in my sketch book, I had finally finished it. I tore out the page and handed it to her.
"You know just how to make a girl happy." She gave me a quick kiss and went back to sleep.
I was starting to like it here.
