*Blake's P.O.V.*
I get out of my car and see that pretty little face of hers again. I never even got her name. What a gentleman I am, probably the worst first impression ever. Right?"Why hello again!" I blurt out without thinking. Cmon now, this is why you don't get any girls Blake! I keep my eyes on her, hoping she will carry on the conversation. "Oh hey" she seemed hesitant to talk. I hear her friends giggle to themselves but I didn't think anything was funny, and neither did she, considering the look she shot at them.
"Uhh Nice car," she says placing a hand on the hood, looking at it as she admires the shiny beauty. "Yeah, thanks. Well I better get going. I have to head to the library to pick up all my books, catch you ladies later!"
I start to walk off as I notice they head the other direction. Dammit Blake. You didn't get her name, again. As I get closer to the library, I see Reece standing nearby with our other Mate, George. I head over to them, "Thanks Reece once again for helping me set up my bedroom yesterday," Reece is a good mate of mine. Our mums introduced us to each other, along with George, a long time ago because of our similarities. I guess you can say I like beating the guitar and Reece likes slappin' the bass.
"Of course, what are friends for. Right?" I let out a slight laugh and nod. I give them a wave goodbye and head into the library, where I pick up my books and schedule. After I get them, I've been told to go to the office to sign in for my first day.
I get to the office and after a few conversations with the principal about the way things are done here, they release me to go to my first class. I have no idea where I'm going. So before I open the door to leave, I turn around to ask for guidance, and I see that it's that pretty face again. What is she doing up here? How did I not see her before?
"Hey!" I sounded very enthusiastic. I'm an idiot. Don't ask excited to see her!!! You don't even know her name! Agh. Before she can respond, the older lady at the front desk, Mrs. Gartner her name tag reads, jumps in.
"Oh I'm sorry dear, we've sent you out on your very own, without you having the slightest bit of idea of where your going." I just laugh and glance over at that pretty face again, to see that she's already looking at me with an awkward smile.
Before I realize that I never answered Mrs. Gartner, she waits a few seconds before saying, "Okay well McKenzie, you wouldn't mind showing Blake around would you? I'll send an email to all your teachers and tell them you're helping out a new student for the day. Make sure you stay with him, and he never gets lost."
I forgot what she said after that. She went on for another minute or two, but it couldn't have been that important. All that's going through my head is 'McKenzie'. What a beautiful name for a gorgeous girl. It's sad that she had to learn my name from the lady in the office though.
As soon as Mrs. Gartner shuts her mouth, McKenzie then shakes her head agreeing to show me around for the day. "Alrighty, lets get this over with" I laugh joking but seeing the face McKenzie made, I don't think she thought it was so funny.
We made our way out of the office and I follow, as she rips the piece of paper out of my hand that listed the room numbers I have to attend for the next 7 hours. She starts down the hall, and I follow, catching up to be by her side.
"Oh gosh. Lucky you," she laughs sarcastically. I smiled down at her as she continued to look at the piece of paper, realizing that she didn't notice how cute she was. "What?!" I take my schedule back from her and try to figure out what she was laughing about. She just laughs again, "You have Mr. Burns 1st period... good luck with that one,"
I just laugh along with her, without my eyes leaving her adorable dimples. "What's so bad about him??" I ask, wondering if this is going to be the first year I don't get solid As. "He would rather talk about how he hasn't seen his son in 16 years, than the English language," she makes eye-contact with me as we approach the last door of the hallway. I open it and she walks in first.
"Hello Mr. Burns. I'm sure you've heard about the new student, well here he is... everyone this is Blake," I stand there like an awkward mouse as she confidently introduces me, and just give everyone a slight wave and a fake smile. Mr. Burns guided me to a seat in the back. Well this will be fun.
She continued guiding me to my classes, just having small talk from class to class. Taking about school, not so much our personal lives. She explained that her 1st period is an assistant in the office. That explains a lot. She also told me who her friends were and that she was in the 11th grade. I'm in the 12th grade, along with Reece and George.
At the end of the day her friends caught up with her, which I'm guessing were Tina and Hannah, the ones she told me about earlier, "Do you guys need a ride somewhere? I noticed that you walked to school today." They all nodded as her friends looked extremely excited to get in my car.
Everyone got in, McKenzie in the front seat. But before driving off, I properly introduced myself. "I'm Blake, sorry I didn't say that before, guess I just forgot." I say laughing but shrugging my shoulders. "Hi, I'm Tina!" said the brunette as she did a dorky smile. "Hello Blake, I'm Hannah," the blonde said trying to mimic Tina's face.
"Where do you lovely ladies need to go?" I say looking at McKenzie. "We always go to my house after school, so I can just tell you where and when to turn, if you don't mind," she smiles at me. After all the lefts and rights, we finally reached a street that looked oddly familiar. Maybe that was because it was the street my family and I had just moved onto.
"You just gave me directions to my own house." I laugh a little as I ask which house is hers. She points at the house that my best mate lives at. Does that mean that they're siblings? Oh no. Reece is going to kill me.
"So YOU are my new neighbor?" She acts shocked, but I can't tell if it's in a good way. Her friends in the back start laughing. I just nod, "Well I guess so, c'mon it can't be that bad, can it?" She just smiles and shrugs as her and her friends get out of the car.
I pull into my drive way and wave goodbye to her and her friends. Im sitting in my room a few hours later, I text Reece: "Hey. How come you never mentioned that you have more than one sister?" He left me on read for a minute or so. "What do you mean? You never asked." Oh come on, there had to be a reason. Right? Maybe he just didn't want me to fall for her, but it's too late for that. Damn feelings, am I right?
