Fact #7

I'm in Orchestra, I play the viola not the violin. It's sad that people don't know what a viola is, well it's different than a violin because... I'll start with the violin first

Violin:
1. Has an E string instead of the C string, the E string is the highest on the Violin

2. The string order for a violin is E, A, D, and G

3. They get mostly all of the melody

4. The lowest string on the violin is the G string

Now for the Viola

Viola:

1. Has a C string instead of the E string

2. They barely get any melody

3. The lowest string on a viola is the C string

4. The string order for a viola is A, D, G, and C

5. The highest string on the Viola is the A string

Now I'm not trying to say that violins suck or anything, I'm just saying that the viola should get more recognized as well as the cello and bass. I wanted to play the cello but my 5th grade orchestra teacher said there were no more cellos even though I went into the storage room and saw A LOT of cellos. I got mad but oh well, like I was saying. She then recommended me to play the viola, I didn't know what that was so I said sure.

I gave it a try and I liked it, I just hated how when you're a beginner you don't get to use the bow until later on. This is my 5th year playing the viola and wow... that's a lot of years. I want to continue on playing it since I love it and I like orchestra as well. Many people didn't like playing in orchestra so I would see so many people drop out and there would be less and less people but I stayed since I had a passion for playing.

I just love music in general and it helps my depression a lot as well as my anxiety.
