A letter to: the adults that say I "wear too much makeup when I get dressed up", that I "should dress more modestly", that I "shouldn't have too many guy friends because other people will get the wrong idea", that I "shouldn't give boys real hugs because people might think we are dating", I need to just "give them a little extra grace because of who their parents are", and that I "need to hide my body and my opinion because "boys will be boys and there is nothing we can do about that"
Did I ask for your opinion? No? Okay good. For a second there I thought I had somehow lowered my standards to ask for something so insignificant as that.
