THE CRYSTAL OF LIGHT

Chapter 3

"Where exactly are we going?" asked a tired Hazel walking slowly.

"Ya, Where exactly are we going?" asked Riven.

"I don't know" I said.

For the past 9 hours we were just walking in the jungle making no progress at all. All we could see were trees and more trees. If I walk 1 more step I'm sure I'm gonna collapse. Couldn't Richard be more specific?

"Stop!" said Lexi sitting down "I can't take it anymore. I need to sit. We should rest for some time."

"For once I agree with Lexi, we should set up our camp here" said Hazel "Riven, help me put up the tent"

While the two were busy setting up the tent, I walked over to Lexi who was sitting on a rock, looking pretty depressed.

"Hey, you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Its just, my life was going so smoothly and everything was so perfect, then all of a sudden everything changes. It was my parent's anniversary that day, we came to the park to celebrate and I felt this pull, so I entered the cave and you know the rest. Sometimes I wish I never entered that cave, then everything would have been normal. Now, my parents don't even know I exist. I miss them." she had tears flowing out of her eyes.

I don't know what got over me, I put my arm around her for comfort, she didn't object or say anything.

"Its ok. Everything's going to be fine" I said though I didn't know myself if I believed that.

"What about you? Don't you miss your family?"

"I wish I could say I did but to be honest I don't ,my parents were never there for me when I needed them. My first day in school, My first birthday, My graduation day they were never there but I've gotten used to not seeing them around, its my life and I'm not going to spoil it crying for them."

Oooooooooooo..

"What was that?" asked Lexi wiping her tears and coming back to her normal self.

"I think its the wolves." said Hazel.

"Me and Riven will go and check, you girls stay here" I said drawing my spear.

We searched the place but there was no sign of anyone, perhaps they wanted to scare us. Good try, but it didn't work.

"We should get back" I said

"Wait, there is something I wanted to ask you about" said Riven standing in front of me.

"What?"

"What were you and Lexi talking about, when me and Hazel were setting up the tent? Why was she crying? Did you hurt her?"

"Whoa, calm down man! Firstly no I didn't hurt her, the poor girl was just upset about her family and secondly I don't think its necessary for you to know what we do"

"You are bad for her, so just stay away from her!" he said angrily placing his hands on my shoulders.

This guy was seriously pissing me off now, What does he think of himself? Just because I was silent till now didn't mean I was afraid of him!

"I don't need you telling me what to do" I said producing a fireball in my hands.

"I will hurt you if you go near her or hurt her" he said producing a strong wind.

"Cut it out both of you!" screamed Hazel coming in between "You guys are supposed to be working together not against each other"

"Try telling him that" I said going back to the camp angrily.

Lexi was practising her powers when I reached the camp.

"Did you find anything?" she asked

"Other than you milady, nothing" I said jokingly

"Very funny, Where are Riven and Hazel?"

"You seem interested pretty interested in Riven these days. You can tell me if you like him I will back off. For you I can do anything, even give my life" I said dramatically

"Haha, Very funny" she said sarcastic.

"My, my what a wonderful bond you two share" we turned to look at a man, from his looks it wasn't hard to know he was a werewolf.

All of a sudden there were many werewolves surrounding us. And those two idiots were probably playing catch in the forest. Thank god I absorbed Lexi's power of reading minds, I could read what that man was planning to do. He was planning to jump on Lexi, so that he could distract me and capture us both easily. Little did he know.......

"Did you hear that?" I asked Lexi

"Yup. and its not going to work" she said smiling slyly.

He pounced on Lexi, but she moved right on time and threw a ball of water at him when he fell.

I started fighting with the rest of them and they were clearly in majority, we needed those two to come back and help us. 

I saw a werewolf pounce on Lexi from the back, I threw a really big fireball at him, he didn't see that coming, so was hit badly. He changed back to his human form, his clothes were burned and he had red marks on his body. I hurt him really bad.

"John! Oh my God! We need to take him home quickly!" said a girl running to him, I think she was his girlfriend.

"You're gonna pay for this big time Caleb" she said lunging forward but Lexi with her superfast speed pushed me out of the way.

"We should go, we will come back later, this time with revenge" said the leader.

With that they all went. We both gave a big sigh of relief.

"What happened?" asked Hazel and Riven.

"Oh look, who decided to show up? You just missed a great party!" I said angrily.

"Where the hell were you both?" asked Lexi angrily.

"We....uh...we...didn't hear you" said Hazel.

"The werewolves came and fought us, I injured one thatswhy they went back. They said they would be back with revenge."

After all this I realised this wasn't going to be easy, we have to fight werewolves, vampires and all the other enemies that would try to harm us. But I trusted my team and knew that no matter what happened we would fight till the very end. Afterall we were the Guardians of Elements and noone could defeat us.
