Chapter 1
Lisa, aren't you a bit too early? It's only five in the morning," her dad asked his daughter who hurriedly came downstairs wearing her school uniform with her ribbon unfinished, her hair messily placed as a ponytail and carried her satchel filled with her school books. The girl stopped at stared at her dad in confusion, who hasn't even begun making breakfast.
"B-but my alarm clock said it's already 8:51!" Lisa complained.
"And why are you going to school today? It's Sunday, Lisa," her dad asked.
"My alarm clock had the words '8:51 A.M. MONDAY' the moment I woke up, dad. Are you sure that today is Sunday?" Lisa crossed her arms.
"Yes, just take a look at the clock and calendar if you don't believe me," her dad said, concentrating back to making breakfast.
Lisa glanced at the clock and the calendar. Her dad was right, it was only five in the morning, and it was May 31, Saturday. The girl scratched her head in confusion, how was it that her alarm clock's time was different from the clock they had in the kitchen. She didn't remember adjusting her alarm schedule. That only led to one conclusion- Lisa heard chuckling from upstairs and saw her brothers giving each other high fives.
"Liam and Luke, get back here you annoying little brats!" Lisa ran upstairs to catch her brothers.
"Are you kidding us?" Luke jumped down the railing before Lisa got to the top.
"We're five inches taller than you and you call us little!" Liam followed after his twin.
Lisa also jumped down the railing and continued chasing the boys to the living room. She picked up a pillow on the couch and threw it at Luke who dodged it while his twin threw a pillow at Lisa that hit her square on the face.
"You're such a short tempered person, no wonder you're a social outcast!" Luke commented while dodging another pillow thrown at him.
"Yeah, if she doesn't have that many friends because of her attitude, I wouldn't be surprised her crush never notices her!" Liam laughed, throwing a pillow at Lisa.
"Shut up! You're both going to be in 8th grade this school year and you're still immature as ever!" Lisa threw a pillow at Liam's face which he of course caught and threw back at her.
The boys threw some more pillows at their sister then ran upstairs. Lisa got up from underneath the pile of pillows burying her and proceeded to chase her brothers. Meanwhile, their dad shook his head in amusement. Even if his children were growing up so fast, at least they still know how to enjoy making childish pranks with each other.
"Hey dad, can I go to the beach later? I want to have a bit of fun on my last day of summer, and playing cat and mouse is definitely not what I have in mind," Lisa asked her dad. She got down from the stair case and took off her school blazer.
"Of course you can," her dad said. He then heard some grumbling voices and crashing sounds from upstairs. "Wait, did you just-?"
Then there was a loud thud heard. The door from the boys' room opened with the twins' mouth covered with duct tape and was bound to each others' backs with a jump rope. They continued grumbling and tripping on their feet every now and then.
Lisa's father glared at his daughter. She glanced from her brothers to her father. "What? They deserved it."
"Lisa, I know it's amusing to see you and your brothers having fun and all, but you have to control your temper. You can't make new friends with that attitude of yours," her dad sighed.
