I walked into the clinic and a cold burst of air hit me. It was such a difference to the dry, hot Colorado air. My dad had an ordinary appointment. Check up. Physical. Whatever you wanted to call it. And for some reason, being the drama queen he was, he made the entire family go. He's a P.E. and junior high school basketball coach and seems to think he still needs to get physicals just like his students. Anyway, After about half an hour of staring at a magazine page, I don't even remember what about, my dad walked out. "How did it go?" My mother asked my father. "Same old, same old," he replied. But I remember seeing something more I'm his eyes, something wasn't right. Anyway, after my dad's appointment we all went and got something to eat, like we always did, and of course it was Applebees, my dad's favorite place to eat. As the hostess was walking us to our table, I got a text.
Lama: Hey, are you free for tonight? I need to come over...
Me: uhh.. Yeah, I guess. I'll be home in about an hour and a half.
As soon as the text was sent, I felt myself bump into something hard and heard a crash. "Shit.. I am so sorry!" I instinctly said. It was the bus boy. And let me just say, this bus boy was.. Oh my gosh.. "Hey, don't worry about it. It's my job to clean other people's messes," he said with a wink and a slight sarcastic tone. "And it's my job to stand there and pretend I did not just make the hottest bus boy drop everything in his arms.." I said with a flush. And then realized what I had said and mentally pounded my head into the wall. "Yeah, okay. I'm going to stop speaking before I embarrass my self further," and with that, I was caught up to my parents and sat at my table. "Hi, my name is Aiden, and I'll be your server." That voice was so familiar. I looked up, and hot busboy was staring at me. And then the inevitable. He winked! Right in front of my parents. He winked at me.. "I'll have a Pepsi," a voice interrupted my thoughts. Crap.. That meant I needed to order.. I remember thinking I wanted to look as not fat as possible. "I'll have water," I said. "Give me a water, too," my mom said. "Okay, I'll be back with those very shortly." My mom instantly turned to me, "He winked at you, didn't he?"
"Uhh.. Yeah.."
"He's kind of cute."
"I guess.."
"C'mon, Brixey. He was gorgeous."
"Mom, just stop.."
As soon as I had said that, he was back with our drinks.
"Is everyone ready to order?" He said.
"I'll have a salad," I blurted. "oh, god.. Why do I keep blurting shit out.." I thought to myself. "A salad? Is the world ending, or something?" My mom just had to say say that.. Why.. But he was laughing.. I was so incredibly embarrassed. I may had been embarrassed, But when he handed us our check, I had a surprise. He had left his number for me. And I decided to write my number on a napkin and lay it next to our tip. It was stupid, I know. But, I must've done something right because my future love texted me within 2 hours of that.
