𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, every time the moon rises above the horizon, the nightmares never stopped. The look of that woman she had on her eyes, the look of absolute far.

I awoke sweating, wide eyed. I stumbled looking around for a water, feeling my mouth so dry as a desert, I gasp for air finishing a whole glass of water.

I recalled the previous events that happened in my nightmare. It was the same dream, the same woman,in the same place but this time it was different. I saw someone, a man hidden in the shadows emerging himself as one with the tall trees that loomed the sky. He was staring, it was so intense it woke me up feeling horrible, scared.

I tried to forget but no matter how hard I try it seems like it was impossible to do so. His stare, I'll never forget his stare. Staring at me as if he were looking straight right into soul. His menacing smirk got me shivering in fear, what is wrong with me?

Why can't it just go away?

I jumped, terrified when I suddenly heard a loud bang coming from outside, "Wh-who's there?" I stuttered. I slowly took a step backwards going farther away from the source, where the banging's coming from.

Gulping, I started walking towards my dresser looking for my weapon the katana that my father had inherited for me before he died. I quickly slid it open fumbling around making a mess, the kimonos were everywhere.

And then I saw it, I flinched when I heard that banging once again so I wasted no more time and went to grab and pull out the blade from its sheath. The blade shone illuminating itself under the moon light's gaze.

I held it with such immense grip giving me a nostalgic feeling of my childhood, I used to practice sword fighting with my father when I was little, a pang of pain struck me through  my heart

I held it with such immense grip giving me a nostalgic feeling of my childhood, I used to practice sword fighting with my father when I was little, a pang of pain struck me through  my heart. I missed my father so much, if I could do anything to just bring him back I would.

I looked from side to side, extremely alert. The sound now just spread around. I'm not really sure where the sound is coming from but I know that it's here.I stand in my place on guard.

I shivered when I suddenly felt a breath on my neck, with a battle of cry I immediately swung my blade behind, my heart fastened when I realized that I have hit nothing.

A rustle of a fabric ran past through me, an immense amount of wind blew past my face.

How did he got inside here without coming in from the entrance?!

I tried my very best to stay calm, but I just can't. My hands started shaking from fear, my sweat continuously started dripping on the floor, I felt like I'm showering from my own sweat and the situation itself just didn't help.

"You've got some interesting weapon right there," it spoke, he sounds like as if he was a bit surprised.

"Show yourself!" I shouted, trying to sound brave. I can't afford looking weak right now in front of this intruder. My heart started beating fast when I heard a laugh echoing throughout my room.

"Hmm, you still managed to act brave despite of how scared you are, looking at you right now it actually could fool anyone. To be honest, I'm quite impressed." The voice was coming from behind me, I turned around and finally the unknown man is now visible through my eyes. He's sitting on my futon, he was looking at his nails and blew it like he was removing some dirt or something.

Despite of the state I am in, I still spared some time to examine him, he was wearing an all black yukata. Unlike most men his hair isn't even tied up in a high ponytail. What's more surprising is that he has a pair of horns sticking out proud and still from his head.

I gulped, I'm now fully aware that I've encountered someone who isn't a normal human like me. It's one of them, The yokai's . I tightened my grip on the handle, ready to strike the monster but before I could even bat an eyelash he was gone . I stood frozen wide eyed from shock, because of that I have let my guard down and that was the most terrible mistake I have ever done.

"Except me." He whispered, from behind.

Hairs stood from my neck, I collected all the force I had and before I could even move a muscle I suddenly felt my body heavy

Hairs stood from my neck, I collected all the force I had and before I could even move a muscle I suddenly felt my body heavy. I can't move, like there's an imaginary force holding me down. There's no doubt that this was his doing, he's a yokai after all. I struggled, but all I can do is make struggling sounds.

I no longer felt brave when he made a sickening laugh. I felt the world suddenly crashing down on me, and I instantly knew that this is the end for me.

But look on the bright side. I can finally reunite with my father. Ive loosen my tenses, feeling my katana slipping from my hand, it didn't even took a bit of time as it just finally fell down. THUD!

For once I finally smiled.

I'm ready to see you my father.
