( Now time for some romance to soothe the "emotional roller coaster ride" of the last chapter.)

You awoke quickly, your body used to your waking up schedule. Quickly, you jump out of bed right before it springs out from its base. The pillows and covers harmlessly hit your body.
"Nuh-uh, HUE. I've already learned sleeping in isn't a option."
You learned the hard way that HUE would literally make the bed fling you against the wall if you weren't up in time. You were prisoner on the ship know as the "galaxy one" and you had to share it with another prisoner named Gary. Gary was...
different.
But you had a crush on him. Sadly, your social awkwardness wouldn't allow you to admit these feelings for him. So for now you just had to be the "best friend who wants to be more than friends but the other friend is too stupid to see that." Person.
Speaking of Gary, you heard his familiar girly scream as a loud THUD erupted from the room next to yours. Guess Gary still hasn't learned. He was a stubborn guy, and you liked that about him. You walked out into the hallway in time to see a shirtless Gary emerge from his room, struggling to put on his clothes. "Alright, HUE! I'm going, I'm going!" He said. His voice was laced with annoyance. His eyes widened as he met your stare. Gary quickly glanced at his bare chest before hurriedly putting on his top. "Heeyyyy! (Y/N)! I uh, don't see your morning bruises?"
"That's because I've learned by now, dummy."

"Hmp! I guess you have. But I know how to do something I bet you don't..."

"What's that??"

"Play.....CARDS...." He said ominously. You chuckled as he pulled out a deck of cards. That was Gary's favorite past time, besides sending videos to his crush, Quinn. (Which you despised for not responding to Gary.)

The blond gestured for you to follow him. You smiled while rolling your eyes. You followed him to the kitchen where he took a seat at the rounded kitchen table. He started dealing the cards before you even sat down. "Prepare to LOSE! To the captain! AGAIN!" Gary said, an "evil" grin on his face. Yes it was true. Gary had beaten you the last few times you played. At first it was because you really didn't know how to play cards. Then you let him win because every time you neared victory, a sad expression would cross Gary's face.

"Ooooh! Can KVN play?" Asked KVN, floating over to the table. KVN was annoying, no doubt about it. But Gary had a passionate hate for the robot. "No, KVN. You CANNOT play, you stupid sack of crud!" He barked. KVN raised his robotic claws defensively, "Come on, best friend! Let me play! Lemme play! You let female lady play, and I'm a way better player than her."
"Hey!" You growled. Somehow, it was like KVN knew you had a thing for Gary. Was it really that obvious? "I...am a expert player, KVN! Leave us alone." You shouted.
The robot just giggled before hovering off. Finally. Alone time with Gary. He opened his mouth the speak, before the familiar voice of HUE began ringing through the ship. "Ah, I'm afraid cards will have to wait, Gary. You have work to do before you take a card break." His robotic voice stated. "Damn! Every friggin' time I try to have fun!" Gary said in disappointment, throwing down his cards.
"And you, little lady, must do your inside chores. Like usual."
You sighed deeply before setting down your cards. You found it kind of sexist how you had to do all the cleaning inside while Gary got to go fix things out in space. Where all the adventure was. You both went your separate ways.
You washed the floor, did the dishes, etc. The whole time, you thought of what fun Gary could be having out there jumping around in space. Even if fixing the satellites wasn't the most interesting thing, it was still cool to be in space. Suddenly, the familiar rumble of the hangar doors opening startled you. You casually strolled over to the hangar, pretending you were just checking to make sure it was clean. When in actuality you just wanted to see if Gary was ok. He was ok, alright. But something was different.
Specifically, the little green alien hovering next to his shoulder. "WHAT IS THAT!?" You shouted in alarm. You couldn't see Garys expression through his helmet. He took off the helmet and you were taken aback by his expression. He was.......smiling?
"(Y/N)! What do you look constipated for? This is our new buddy I found out there while I was fixing the satellite. I named him "MoonCake." Pretty kick-ass, huh??" He said excitedly. You took a moment to shake your head and get your bearings. Can't be looking like a nervous wreck in front of your crush.
"Y-yeah. Sorry, I was worried it was some kind of mind-controlling alien or somethin' like that.."

"Oh, Mooncake can control minds alright! With his personality and cuteness, who wouldn't listen to the guy! Ain't that right, buddy!" He said, beginning to talk in his babying voice while patting the alien. It was true. The thing was pretty cute. Gary gestured for you to come closer. You hesitantly did, and he took your hand in his. A hot blush spread across your face from his touch. But it faded as he made you pet "Mooncake." He felt a kind of like...moist leather? You laughed at the thought. Gary smiled. "See? He's cool. Cool with a capital K. Now, we should probably go finish that game of cards." You nodded and began to walk away. "AFTER I GET A COOKIE." Gary said with determination. You face palmed as Gary followed by mooncake exited the room. Oh brother...
