Third Person POV

"WHAT?!" Natsu and Gray yelled in unison as they pointed to each other. "I HAVE TO TEAM UP WITH THIS ICE PRINCESS/FLAMEBRAIN?!" They, once again, yelled in unison. "If you have a problem with it, then I might as well choose someone else. As an S-Class wizard in Fairy Tail, you should be able to work with anyone and have no problems." Makarov said, shutting up the two mages. Natsu looked down and crossed his arms. "Fine, we'll be a team," Gray mumbled as he grabbed Natsu by the arm, pulling him towards the guild doors. "C'mon. We might as well get to training." He said. Natsu pulled his arm away and started walking by his side. The guild starred at the two as they walked out in utter silence.

"Master, is there a reason why you put Gray and Natsu into the same group?" Mira asked, setting down a couple drinks on the table for some unhappy guild members. "I just see them being great on the same team. They both are equal in strength and they might just be the perfect duo, despite the fact that they have complete opposite magic. It would also be nice to see them get along for once." Master said, joking around on the last part. Mira smiled as she went to get more drinks.

Gray's POV

I can't believe I got stuck with flamebrain. I mean, we are pretty powerful if were able to get along and fight side by side, but what's the chance of that happening? It's only happened a couple other times. I looked down at the flamebrain and saw how spaced out he was. He was probably thinking about how much he wanted to kill me right now.

"Where do you wanna train?" I asked, breaking his train of thought. He looked up at me and responded. "I guess we can train near my place. It's a pretty good distance away from the town, that way we won't cause any big trouble." "Okay," I responded. I guess it's a good idea to train somewhere far away from the town. We continued walking, me following Natsu to his house.

It took about 20 minutes to get there. His house looked small, but I didn't really expect much. "So, how do you wanna train?" He asked me. "We can fight, I mean, it wouldn't really help me since your so easy to beat," I said with a smirk as I saw his expression change from happy to angry. "Oi! I'll fight you, and I'll win!" He yelled, charging at me with his fists ignited. I saw that coming, so I just moved to the side to dodge it. But, instead, he jumped and leapt at me. He pounced on top of me, causing the both of us to fall and tumble down a hill. Once we stopped, I sat up with a groan as I rubbed my head. I furiously looked at Natsu, who was still lying on the ground. "Oi! What the hell was that for?! You trying to kill us before the trials?!" I yelled, but he didn't react. He just stayed there, staring up at the sky. I sighed and followed his glance...

Third Person POV

Gray followed where Natsu was staring, only to be welcomed by the beautiful sky above. The sun was setting, creating a pink and orange hue in the sky. Gray laid down, staring at the sky next to Natsu. Instead of being relaxed like Gray, Natsu was tense. Every time he would stare at the sky, all he could think about was Igneel. He wanted, no, needed to find him. Gray looked over at Natsu, noticing the seriousness on his face. He stood up, crossing his arms. "C'mon, we should get back to training." He said as he turned around to walk back up. "Wait..." Natsu said quietly, making Gray sigh in annoyance. He turned around and looked at Natsu. "What?"

Natsu took a while to respond to Gray, but he eventually sat up, mumbling, "I don't really wanna train...I just wanna relax for a while...It's peaceful today..." Natsu looked back up at the sky, the colours glistening in his honey brown eyes. "That's not like you at all. Usually, you'd want to fight." Gray replied, "Anyway, I'll be back up there. I'm gonna train." Gray added, walking back up the small hill towards Natsu's house.

About an hour later, Natsu stood up and walked back to the house. He saw Gray in the distance, watching him practice his magic. He smiled to himself as he opened the door to his small house, revealing a very messy place. The pinkette walked in and shut the doors behind him, sitting down on the couch. 'Maybe it's a good thing...' he thought to himself 'Maybe it's good that the ice princess and I are on the same team...' Natsu's always liked Gray as a friend, maybe even more, but they were stuck with being rivals. Natsu can't even remember why they became rivals... He's always had a bad memory, but he would most likely remember something that caused two friends to become opponents. It's almost like he forced himself to forget what happened. Natsu didn't notice the dirty and shocking stare he was getting from the ice mage since he was so lost in thought. Why a dirty and shocking stare? Well, have you seen the inside of Natsu's house before? It's something no one would expect.

Heck, Gray could have just called it a dump for an understatement!
