Jughead
I walked into the one place in Riverdale where I feel at home, some might say at peace.
"Hey Jug?" I hear a familiar voice call from an equally familiar booth.
Betty Cooper. The one and only.
"Hey Betty!" I smile and lean in for a kiss.
We order the usually and talk about typical things. Which is cool, right? This is my dream. To be able to call Betty my girlfriend, to be able to hold her hand in public and not have to hide my feelings. Then how come it isn't as thrilling as I thought it would be? I guess you could say I find it rather dull.
Suddenly the bell by the door knocked me out of my thoughts and I glanced to see who it was.
Archie Andrews.
"Hey Archie!" Betty cried in delight. For a second it almost sounded as if she was so much more happier to see him than me. Should I be worried?
"Hey Betty...Jughead," His eyes slides over to me in disgust like I was revolting he had found at the bottom of his shoe.
"Sit with us." Betty said-still smiling.
"How have you been?"
Veronica
"Hey, Cheryl."
"Hey V." I heard my friend's voice crackle from the other side of the line. "I don't think I can make it tonight. Sorry!"
"Wha-" I began, but the line went dead before I could finish.
I sighed in desperate need of some entertainment. There are somethings Riverdale seriously lacks in, like: Cute boys. Other than maybe Archie Andrews. And like I mentioned before place to actually go to. How people can be raised here is beyond me. But any good Lodge knows that she has to make an effort of things, so I'm trying. Even though it's killing me inside.
*At Pop's*
"Hey strangers. Mind if I sit?" I ask as soon as I see Betty and the gang. The truth is we honestly have been spending much time together not since I became besties which Cheryl Blossom and Toni Topaz (which, just between you and me, is so more thrilling).
"Sure." Says Betty barely acknowledging me.
I slide in next to Archie so I'm opposite Jughead and order a chocolate milkshake. I guess somethings never change.
"So, how is everyone?" I ask, glancing round.
"Good. Hey, I actually just need the bathroom." Betty says.
"Me too," Archie exclaims and desperately tries to climb over me.
Once they are out of earshot I turned my attention to the boy siting in front of me.
"Was it me, who was there something off about those two?"
"Not sure." He relies dismissively while he anxiously plays with his fingers.
"Hey did you hear about the party at Reggie's tonight?" Archie's voice makes me jump.
"Uh no." I relied, "Are you going?"
"Of course! His parties are insane!" He exclaims excitedly.
I rolled my eyes in despair. Despite his good looks, there may be no hope for young Archie Andrews...
