Shin Tae Chan POV
I roll over in my bed and look through the window at the storm wrecking havoc outside. There's nothing about a storm that calms me...not the clap of thunder, nor the grey clouds, or even the cold rain.. it's the smell that follows the rain that calms me the most, that fresh smell of wet earth...the smell of summertime.
Summertime, the best time of year- according to one of my friends, Rin Rin. She's 18, probably one of the most adorable and weirdest people I've ever met. Shes got long brown hair, gorgeous chocolates eyes, pixie like facial features and a small dusting of freckles across her nose. She's slightly taller than me, which she never lets me forget. She's best friends with my sister Sung Young, they cause all kind of mischief together. My sister is 19, but acts like a complete child, which makes me go slightly crazy but I love her completely for it. We're not full sisters, only half. Our mother we share. Sung Young has bright pink hair (which she dyed to irritate our mum) and grey eyes, she's short like me but slightly taller. A cute face with slightly chubby cheeks.
People say we look alike but we can't see it. I look more like my dad and she looks like mum. Our mum is Korean. She met my dad when she was 19, ended up pregnant and moved to England after her parents kicked her out. My dad left her just before I was born, and two years later my mum met Sung's dad, she ended up pregnant again and they got married. They live in America now, and I look after Sung in our old home in London.
I roll out of bed and pad across the room to my bathroom. I'm so glad I don't have to share my bathroom with Sung Young as she takes forever in the mornings and doesn't know how to leave everything tidy.
I stand in front of my mirror and look at what I'm dealing with. My bright blue eyes are puffy from a long night of reading. My long ginger hair that I inherited from my dad is a huge curly mass on top of my head.I definitely don't look as Korean as my sister. My dad was Irish, the stereotypical Irish man with ginger hair, pale skin, freckles and blue eyes. My stepdad is Scottish. Sung really only inherited the anger and boldness, along with grey eyes. I like being unique but it caused me to get bullied a lot when I was younger, i still do get bullied. Can't really escape that.
I apply a small amount of makeup and sort my mass of hair out before throwing on a black hoodie and some skinny jeans. Looking myself over my eyes caught the clock in the corner of my room. I still had plenty of time to wake Sung up and walk to class.
I walk into Sung's room to find her sprawled out on her bed, with her black blanket wrapped round her legs, one arm tossed over her face her phone clutched tightly in her hand. Her other arm was wrapped around a small bear she's had since she was a baby, the fur matted and one of the eyes missing. I grab her feet and slowly start tickling her to try and wake her...
"N...no..." she mutters while trying to pull her feet free.
"Wakey wakey, time to get up!" I shout into her ear, making her jolt upwards
"Goodmorningff..." she mumbles while rubbing her eyes. She sleeps like a baby, and wakes like a baby. She is a complete baby. This is why I have to wake her before I leave for Uni. Otherwise she will miss College, and I'll have to deal with a grumpy sister. I wish her a good day and leave the house to walk to class, I walk slowly so I can enjoy the rain.My sister studies art and at the local college, she's pretty good but doesn't always have confidence in herself. Teachers have a habit of dragging her down. I've walked into her room before to find her asleep at her desk with millions of crumpled up pieces of paper surrounding her. But she's walked in on me asleep like that too.
I'm a singer. Well I'm training to be a singer. I'm studying music at uni, I've been singing since before I could talk. I write my own songs, though they aren't great. I sing covers on YouTube and have a small following of a hundred subscribers
I arrive at my first class and realise I'm the only one here this early, so I switch on one of the computers and head straight to YouTube. I check out my most recent upload and answer a couple of comments, most of them are positive, a couple are negative and a couple of them are recommending new covers. I click on the next comment..
