Jack stood on the sightly elevated stage shaking not really knowing what was going on. He looked out in the crowd of people, he wanted to run or cry anything but be where he was. The thing was that Jack was a neko, his dark brown ears pinned back and were slightly covered by his bright green hair, his tail that matched his ears tucked between his legs. I don't want to be here! I don't want to be sold. Was all that was going through his mind. Suddenly a loud voice boomed through the building making Jack jump, he looked at a man talking into a microphone calling numbers. People in the crowd rose their hands, Jack curled up trying to become invisible.

Dark looked around not really knowing what he wanted at this auction, he leaned against a wall grumbling to himself on why he came in the first place. Finally the announcer started talking, a huge crowd found itself in front of the stage. He saw bright green and raised his eyebrow, he pushed through the crowd and saw a man with bright green hair and a dark brown tail and ears. Neko? He asked himself, and without noticing he was raising his hand to buy the little neko, his eyes locked on the nekos. The eyes of the neko where bright blue with a little bit of grey in them. And he couldn't look away he didn't want to. Dark also had the feeling like he needed the neko.
"Sold! To the man in the flannel." The announcer pointed to Dark. The announcer went toward the neko and gave him a little push toward Dark. The neko looked terrified and Dark let his eyes soften and a warm smile creep on his lips as he looked at the neko.

Oh no! Not again! He looks strong is he gonna hurt me!? Jack panicked as he looked at the man that just bought him, his eyes red like a warm fire and his hair red as blood. Jack felt like crying, to him the man looked like all the other men that had Jack before and used him to do nasty things. And if Jack did not obey he would get beat or be starved.
"Follow me." The man said his voice deep and smooth. Jack hesitately nods and follows the man as they left the building making their way to the man's car.

Dark opened the car door for the neko, motioning for him to get in, he got in and buckled his seatbelt. Dark got in the car and did the same, soon they were on the road. The drive was silent until Dark broke it.
"What's your name?" Dark saw the neko jump and look at him.
"J-jack." He stuttered.
"Nice to meet you Jack. Names Dark." The neko now known as Jack nodded and looked back out the window.

Jack was surprised that the man, named Dark, asked for his name. Usually the men that found him called him names like 'sweet thing' or 'pumpkin', never asking his real name. He was also surprised that Dark said his real name or he thought was his real name, just like the nicknames his old owners gave him he was expected to call his owners nicknames like 'Daddy'. Maybe Mr. Dark isn't like the others. Jack thought and he started to hope he was right. Jack looked in awe at Darks house. It seemed really big just for one person, but Jack didn't complain.

"Here we are." Dark said as he smiled at Jack. Jack's ears pinned back and worried covered his eyes. "Jack? Are you alright?" Dark looked to see a wet spot on the car seat, he wet himself. Great. Dark thought, Jack started shaking. Dark gently placed his hand on Jack's shoulder. "Jack?" Dark felt Jack get tense under his touch. Tears trickled down his cheeks.
"I-im sorry..." Dark gently rubbed his shoulder with his thumb.
"It's ok Jack I'm not mad. Let's get you inside and settled then we'll figure out what to do." Jack wiped his tears with his sleeve and nodded.
"O-ok." Dark had helped Jack out of the car and into the house.
"I'll clean the car later but you need a bath."

Jack flinched when Dark said 'bath' and Jack knew what that meant...water. Jack looked at Dark and suddenly took off running.
