Chapter 2 - Court.

-Kiela's POV-

Time. The centre of everyone's universe.

Constantly wishing and waiting for time to pass, to become obliterated, non-existent. And today, I just wished for time to slow down, stop even.

But of course, nothing in my life ever ran smoothly.

Tia-Mae; my gorgeous little daughter, decided it would be fine for me to be late today. To my custody hearing, to the beginning, or the end of my world. Keeping or losing the most precious thing in my life. Tia-Mae.

I just wanted that fairy-tale, you know? The one where you get married and live happily ever after, but apparently happy and me don't belong together in a sentence.

-Fast Forward-

I dashed through the sea of bobbing heads outside the court house and sprinted through the enormous oak doors, that locked away secrets; of haunting pasts, bettering futures or destroying someone's forever.

I quickly asked the plump lady at reception if she knew what court room my hearing was in and she monotonously replied, "Room 424".

Room 424. The end of the beginning and the beginning of an end.
