*Luhan's POV*

Fires blazed in the city as the people around us screamed in terror. The sounds of clashing swords and the roars and cries of the monstrous Heugsuem filled my ears as I sent my sword through one of the smoke figures.

"Luhan!" I turned my head towards the sound of my name and saw Prince Suho spreading water from buckets over the close by houses. "There's some kids in there and the house is about to fall down! Hold up the building while I get them out!" I raised my hand and held up the groaning structure as Prince Suho ran through the front door.

I turned my back to the house and scanned the streets for any threats that may come our way. But nothing did, and I turned back around to see Prince Suho run out with a baby in his arms and a boy, about twelve, dragging along a small girl with a doll clutched tightly in her hands.

As soon as they were clear of the house I lowered my hand, and the house came crashing down. "We need to get them out of here." I said as I ran to them and picked up the little girl. "Do you know the quickest way to the gates?" I asked the boy.

"Even better." The boy turned and took off down an alleyway with us close behind him. As we ran, I spotted soldiers fighting Heugsuem, and EXOTICs that could were defending those who couldn't and were trying to put out the fires.

*I wish I could do more to help.* I thought sadly as I threw a falling piece of timber. "Prince Luhan!" All of us turned at the sound of my name being called, and I saw Hangeng, my personal guard who I instructed to protect my parents, running down the street towards us.

"What is it? Why aren't you with my parents?" I questioned him as he caught his breath.

"They're dead." He gasped. "All the rulers are dead."

There was a moment of silence before Prince Suho stepped forward. "All of them?"

"Yes sir." Hangeng bowed his head. "The only survivors that attended the meeting were you and the other princes. I'm so sorry that I failed you."

We were silent once more, lost in our own thoughts. I felt myself trembling in anger and grief. *Mother, father. They're gone! And at the the hands of those beasts!* Gentle arms wrapped themselves around my neck and I realized the little girl was still in my arms. "It's alright." I told the guard. "You protected them to the best of your abilities. I need you-"

"Prince Suho!" Everyone jumped when Kai appeared in a cloud of smoke in front of Hangeng. "All the kings and queens are dead. The princes and royal guards are meeting outside the gates to retreat." He silenced himself when he looked at all of us. "What, do you already know?"

"Yes Kai, we do." Prince Suho answered softly.

"Oh. Well come on, we need to go." He reached for Prince Suho and the baby but I grabbed his wrist.

"Wait." I turned back to Hangeng, who was waiting for my orders. "Gather all the soldiers and tell them to help the EXOTICs escape the city. From there, take them to the Kokuyo Forest and keep them safe until you receive word that you can return. And, send every teleporter to every kingdom and instruct them to prepare themselves and send any supplies to these people that they can." I turned back to the boy. "Get the other kids and help them out the exit that you were taking us to."

The men nodded before Hangeng ran the way he came and the boy gathered his siblings and ran the other way. "Okay Kai. We can go."

The younger prince nodded before grasping both Prince Suho's and my hands, and in a flash of smoke, we were standing just outside the city gates. Kai led us behind a thicket of trees to a somewhat pathetic looking group.
