Bad weather
The streets are dry but the sky is loud
It rumbles
It growls
It's awake and pregnant with clouds full of rain
Bright light peeks through the blinds from my window
I light a candle in anticipation
When will I hear the first drops of rain knock on my window
When will I hear the rain beat on the sidewalk
And when will I hear it slide down the roads in a stream

It makes me uneasy

I'm reminded how far away I am from home
