Chapter 6 - Burn

(Time skip to when Poppy and Branch had to read stories to the kids)

Kids: POPPY AND BRANCH! SITTING IN A TREE! K I S S I N G!

Poppy and Branch tried to stay calm. But the kids just kept saying it. Eventually, Poppy got so mad, so frustrated, she just went full rage and screamed at them. "ENOUGH!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. All the kids looked at her in shock. They had never heard her so angry. The Poppy they knew and loved was kind, calm and caring. Poppy gasped at what she had just done and just ran off. With Branch getting dragged behind her all the way to her Pod. She was pacing around in frustration. Pulling her hair. Until Branch came flying in from being dragged all the way from the school and knocked right into the Poppy. They both got dragged to the wall. Branch and Poppy's faces were close. Branch looked at her with a nervous smile. "Hi." He said nervously. "Aargh! This is all. Your. Fault!" She said getting up. "Me?" Branch asked in confusion. "Yes! Thanks to you, all those kids now think I'm a monster!" Poppy yelled. "Oh would you relax. They deserved it. They wouldn't shut up!" Branch agreed. Poppy went up to Branch and grabbed him by the collar. "You have any idea how much those kids mean to me? Now they think I'm a monster!" She yelled before stomping away to the bathroom. She shut the door and locked it. Making her hair and Branch's hair stuck in between the doorway. She sat against the door on the other side. Branch Walked up to it and knocked. "Um Poppy, I still don't get how this is my fault. Kids will be kids and they will say that we are a couple." Branch said trying to calm Poppy down. "Ugh. It's not the kids. It's that stupid wish you made." Poppy said in a much calmer voice. "You think I was being serious?" Branch replied. "(Sigh) I... I don't know. You tell me?" Poppy replied. "Well I wasn't. You think I'd wan to be physically attached to you?" Branch asked to the other side. He got no response. He just heard a sigh. "Just 2 more weeks Poppy. Just 2 more weeks." He heard Poppy say to herself before she started sobbing quietly. Branch couldn't bear hearing her like this. He knew he had to do something. And knowing how much Poppy loved singing, he broke into song. He sang burn by Toto.

As he finished up the song, he heard the door unlock. Poppy opened the door and ran over to Branch. She wrapped her arms around him and gave him a big hug. "I'm sorry for blaming you for this Branch. You didn't want to be physically attached to me. I know you didn't mean it." She said to him. "It's OK Poppy." Branch said before they broke from the hug. "Now if we're gonna get through this, we're gonna get through it together." He added. Poppy nodded in agreement.
