Chapter 2: A day to come.

They had done it. They had made it through the night safe and sound. Well partially safe anyways. The daylight was shining through an open window and there was movement in the house. Assylam woke to find Ronald and Athena fighting off walkers as Beff gathered supplies. They had to be out of there by noon if they were going to survive. It was early but getting darker by the second. They gathered the supplies they had taken into the house and made their way through walkers. They had left the car behind because Assylam had stalled the engine trying to start it too quickly.

They had walked about 6 miles and stopped when they heard the sound of an engine. Athena pulled out the guns and aimed ahead and Ronald did the same with his bow. Assylam turned around and saw a car approaching them. It got faster as it came closer. Athena shot at the at the back tire and the car stopped. A man, a young woman, a teenage boy, and a large dog stepped out. They all prepared to fight but Beff stopped them. Beff knew these people, because he had been friends with the teenage boy when they were younger. He was 17 years old with thick, light brown hair, and hazel eyes. Athena had never really been one for guys who looked like Greg, but there was something about him that made her just want to look at him. When they made eye contact she got butterflies in her stomach but she had to pretend they didnt exist. He simply smiled and looked to the ground. They intoduced themselves as Arinna, Armando, Greg, and their dog John. They offered their help to the group.

Athena: why would we need help? *she asked laughing*

Greg: well it seems as if you don't want us here *he says playfully*

Assylam: we can use all the help we can get

Beff: I'm sure we will need each other very much.

Ronald: well it couldn't hurt *he says looking at armando*

Assylam: you can come with us, im sure we'll all get along well.

They left the car behind because it wasn't big enough for all of them so they were left with no choice but to walk. Arinna and Beff caught glances from each other from time to time. John followed Assylam where ever she went. Greg was behind Athena every minute of the way. And Armando and Ronald walked side by side in deep conversation. Everything seemed to be going well, they were all caught up in conversation with one another. But then they all heard john growling and he took off in a dead sprint towards a dark part of the woods. Assylam, Athena, Armando and Greg took off after him. Armando had a large shotgun, with bullets the size of a nokia, and Greg had a small handgun called a mosquito. John was still barking and they grew scared as to where they were heading. They finally heard John fighting with a human. Assylam jumped in front of john and started to attack the person, not knowing who it was. Athena heard a familiar voice, and a girl ran up from behind her and held a gun to her throat. Athena was being suffocated by the barrel, but she finally realized who the holder of the gun was.

"Lola! Its me Athena!!" She screamed. Hearing this, the girl she had called Lola, dropped the gun in amazment. Athena turned around and hugged Lola and Lola hugged her back. Greg finally caught up and was panicing. Lola Flores was her name, she had been friends with the group since 6th grade but they had seperated by high school and forgot about each other. She was a little short with light brown, medium length hair. They ran to where Assylam, Armando, and John were, and found the two girls hugging each other. Athena, realizing who the other girl was, hugged her. They too had been friends but they seperated when she moved to a new school. Her name was Elise Holling, she was tall with long blonde hair. They all began hugging, leaving Armando and Greg behind them laughing.

Athena: what are you guys doing out here!?

Elise: we're trying to find shelter

Lola: guys, its horrible up ahead! We just came through a pack of walkers that could fill ECHS!

Assylam: how' d you escape?

Elise: we avoided them

Athena: how did you do that?

Lola: we went around them, believe me they are stupider than they look!

Greg: okay ladies, i dont mean to be a buzzkill but we gotta go before it gets any darker.

Beff: OH MY GAWD! Its my girly friends!!

Ronald: holy crap!

Lola and Elise: hey guys!

Armando: guys we have to move, now!

They decided to let Elise and Lola travel with them. Along the way they found a small boy that Elise had left in a little tunnel along the way because they didnt want him to get hurt. They hadn't abandoned him, they were going to go find shelter and come back and get him. Assylam picked the boy, Logan, up and carried him for the remainder of the trip. They found a small hut that could fit maybe 7 people. The problem was is that they were a group of 11. Lola, Arinna, and Assylam arranged the room order. Bedroom 1; Lola, Logan, Assylam. Bedroom 2; Arinna, Beff, Elise. Bedroom 3; John, Athena, Greg, Armando, and Ronald. (They had arranged room 3 to their own entertainment.)

They all took their things to the rooms and settled in.

Greg: oh i see, you couldnt bare being away from me too long?!

Athena: ha-ha you make me laugh. For your information, i didnt choose where i was to be put. My best guess is that its a big joke.

Greg: well isn't this just a lovely joke after all?!

Athena: shut up! * throws an old t-shirt at him*

Greg: i'll be sure to keep this.

He folded the faded black shirt and packed it in the bottom of his bag. Armando and Ronald were once again engaged in conversation. John took the only bed in the room as his own and wouldnt share with anyone unless it was Assylam or Arinna. They all met in bedroom 1 to discuss what to do in the morning and where they would go. They hoped to find a car or two, or just a truck, the upcoming day. They all had their own opinions but Ronald seemed to agree with Armando on just about anything. They all went back to the rooms they were assigned to and got ready for bed. You could here Assylam playing with Logan, and he was giggling as loud as possible while she tickled him. John was guarding the front entrance and Arinna covered the back. Armando and Ronald were so caught up in conversation they could barely tell that there was anyone else in the room. Arinna grew a bit annoyed with Armando and Ronald always being together, but she got over it as soon as Beff joined her. Lola, Elise, and Athena were braiding each others hair and Greg was loading and unloading his guns.

Lola, Elise, and Athena looked different with their tight braids and Greg couldnt keep his eyes off Athena. Arinna was jelous as soon as she noticed Beff looking at Elise. Arinna went and had the girls help her do the same with her hair and as soon as it was done, Beffs attention was back on her. It grew darker and since there was a short supply of blankets Assylam handed them out and told them who had to share. Lola must have seen the way Greg had been looking at Athena because as Assylam was passing out the blanket Lola whispered something in her ear. Assylam got a mischevious look on her face and announced that Athena and Greg were sharing a blanket. Athena let out a loud groan of discust. Greg laughed and smiled towards Lola and Assylam.

They all layed down and got settled in. Ronald and Armando stayed awake talking. Arinna and beff closed their eyes every few minutes, occasionaly looking at each other. Assylam layed with Logan snuggled up against her. Elise layed on the floor with headphones jammed in her ears. Lola fell asleep quickly and began annoyingly snoring and talking in her sleep. Greg layed as close as he could to Athena and slowly slid one arm over her, his excuse was "keeping her from moving." John sat up alert incase anything happened. The silence of the world was upon them and they just layed there and took advantage of it. Assylam layed there quietly singing her favorite song since 8th grade called "Monument" by A Day To Remember. Lola dreampt about a family of her own one day. Elise didnt dream, and neither did Arinna. Beff dreamt about winning a physics competition. Greg and Athena just layed there, not wanting to sleep because they werent tired.
