"i've notified your school. your professors are e-mailing the school work needed for the week." her mom tells her as they pack up.

her parents' two-week stay is finally up and they have to go to canada for work. there's also a family reunion so xiang yu has to go for a week. she texted yanjun about it last night and he came over early in the morning.

"thanks mama." she sighs, yawning.

"don't fall asleep, xiang yu. your flight is in two hours and you're not finished packing." he tells her.

"i'm trying to stay awake." she slapped herself.

"how cute." he muttered, smiling.

to get the job done, the two of them packed up her luggage. they had to leave for the airport in a bit and yanjun told her he'd go with them to say bye. xiang yu asked if she could have yanjun take her to the airport since she wouldn't be able to contact him as much once she gets to canada. her parents allowed her to do so and she felt slightly sad to say bye.

"hold tight, okay?" he tells her. she nodded and he followed after her parents' car towards the airport.

she had a feeling something would happen on her way back to china. she tried not to think of it and distracted herself with yanjun's cologne. breathing in his scent, she felt at home. she hugged him tighter, resting her head on his back. they arrived at the airport too soon, in xiang yu's opinion. when she got off the motorcycle, she focused her attention on yanjun.

"why the long face, babe?" he gives a lazy smirk, caressing her cheek.

she didn't say anything at first. she threw her arms around him, pulling him closer to her. he was taken by surprise, hugging her back instantly. she tightened her grip for a second, taking in his scent again. she had to pull away since her parents told her they had to check in.

"i'm gonna miss you." she admits.

"me too, babe." he hugs her again.

"xiang yu, we need to get going soon." her mom tells her.

"wait," yanjun stopped xiang yu, "take this." he took off his hoodie, giving it to her. she smiled, looking at his hoodie. she took off her oversized hoodie and gave it to him.

"just so it's fair. you'll get a cold on the way back." she smiles, slipping yanjun's jacket on. "mama, can i get one more minute alone with him?" she asked. her mom nodded, walking towards her husband.

"who'll i give the coffee and sandwich to?" he asks.

"eat it for yourself," she grins, "that way you'll have energy throughout the day."

"you look really down, care to tell me why?"

"i have a feeling something bad might happen on my way back. but i don't know, i don't wanna jinx it." she shrugs.

"don't think about it, you'll worry me," he chuckles, "come here." he engulfs her into another hug. when they pulled apart, he pulled the hood up over her head and tied off the end so it stays still.

"why?" she chuckled.

"it's more comfortable. you look cuter, anyways," he grins, "have a safe flight."

"thanks. have a safe way back, yanjun." she waved, walking off.

the family checked in for their flight. xiang yu kept her eyes outside, watching yanjun. when her parents motioned for her to follow them to the gate, she couldn't see him anymore. she waved again just in case before disappearing into the airport.

they were just in time for boarding. when the family of three settled in to their seats, xiang yu texted yanjun before she had to turn off her phone.

xiang yu
be safe, yanjun. the flight is going to take off in a bit so i have to turn my phone off soon.

yanjun
you be safe too. miss you already :(

xiang yu
miss you too :(

xiang yu
the flight attendant told me to turn off my phone. i'll text you when i land.

yanjun
love you, be safe babe.
