The next day, no one but Sammy's mother was allowed to attend the funeral. I sat in my bedroom dancing to some music. I had to start packing for college or I wouldn't be ready in time. Even though I have to go in to the volunteer police station today. College is only about 10 miutes away, so I won't really be leaving all the drama behind me. I packed my favorite picture of Sammy, Hannah, and I. We looked so happy back then. I miss those days like crazy.I miss Sammy. She made even the slightest thing amazing. She even complimented me that time I got the horrible haircut. She looks at the positive side. Or should I say looked. I'm suprised anyone would want to hurt her.

"What did she ever do?" I muttered to myself as I packed yet another happy picture of me and Sammy. We looked so happy together back then. I would give anything to re do last night. To not give her that soda.

"Honey Lynna Kyleson is here to take you to the police station." She yelled from downstairs as I packed my favorite fushia top. Sammy's mom gave me all of Sammy's clothes which takes up four suitcase all on their own. I sighed and grabbed a bag that had my cell and Ipod in it. Lynna said me and her could walk to the police together even though I could just as well walk alone.

I wore my 'I am who I am' T-shirt and a pair of dark-wash jeans. I even added my pair of teal heels. nothing to fancy for the police station, but I still look good. My hair is pulled up in to a pony tail and I have silver hoop earrings in. The ones that Sammy used to say could be mistaken for basketball hoops. I walked down the carpet stairs. I saw Lynna as if it were the first day of school again. She looked amazing in her red and grey striped shirt with light wash jeans and a bright smile.

"Honey she's waiting! Have fun you girls. Well as fun as you can have at a drab police station. Give me the deets when you come home Kay." I nodded and went down another set of stairs before finally reaching the bottom.

" Hey Ly. I'm ready are you?" She nodded and followed me out the door.

"Honey be careful!" my mother yelled from inside the house and slowly closed the door. Keeping her eye on me until she couldn't. I could see her peak out from the triangular window as I walked away, in to the distance. She seems to worry a bit more than she used to. Then again, who wouldn't if their daughter almost died in a murder?

"You look great Kay.  Jay is gonna meet up with us when we get around his corner." I nodded and looked around at the houses. I saw Georgia Hansen from my math class playing with Julia Cast from Science. Other than that this place might as well be a ghost town. I could see the window curtains open of almost every house.

They know about the fact that we're suspects. Like I said, they make it their business. It's going top be the talk of the town until next January. Then some kids will go and steal the sign off a window and the city will be in turmoil. Life goes on. Jay came around the corner with a slight smile on his face.

"Umm hey Jay!" He smiled and walked next to me. Silence is the most comforting thing to me. It helps me think, but for once I don't want to think. Someone tried to kill Sammy and I. The succeeded in half of it. They killed half of the equation.
