Once Upon A Time

The missing prince

Once upon a time, there was a big kingdom. It was ruled by a powerful but righteous king, and a very beautiful but generous queen. The kingdom Occasus was a happy town, filled with many workers. The town had all what a town needed. A baker, a slaughter, the royal garden. And the best thing was when the queen sang for the town. It was the most beautiful voice in the kingdom. It made everyone's day, if they just heard the queen sing one time. All though the kingdom was happy and with no concerns, the king and queen wished terribly a son, who could take over the kingdom, when they would fade away. Then suddenly on a summer night, a witch dressed in a black hoodie and carrying a wand of wood, came appearing in their bedroom while they were sleeping. The queen and king were very choked, but the witch told that, they didn't have to fear. She would give them a son, in exchange of something else. They couldn't lie. The couple immediately said yes, and the day after the queen was pregnant. 9 months waiting for the prince to come, and the city was preparing for their upcoming king. But what they didn't know was, that they apparently celebrated for kings.

Suddenly a winter night, when the sun was raising and the moon was falling, two princes were born. Stella and Satelles. With birthmarks on their right arm. Stella had a birthmark, that looked like the sun, and Satelles had one, that looked like the moon. There were thrown a huge festival for celebrating the birth for the two princes. Satelles was the oldest, and it was obvious that he should be the king. Stella loved all the attention he got. He loved moving around. Satelles was just a happy baby, that saw the good in everyone. Once he helped a little bird, that was being chased by a black and wild cat. The king and queen overlooked Satelles, and almost only concentrated about Stella, who was the most beautiful baby. They were so fascinated by his beauty, that they even decided to lie and let Stella be the king.

The king and queen were so happy, that they forgot the witch's demand.

But the happy kingdom was soon filled with sadness.

The night was filled with clouds, that covered the moon. The wind was quiet, and everyone slept. Outside on the pavement, stood an old lady, and monitored the royal family. Satelles and Stella slept happily and innocent in their small crib, while the king and queen slept in the big and royal bed. The witch quietly opened the pavement door, sneaked inside, and grabbed the oldest son Satelles. Satelles cried immediately, which waked the king and queen up, while the witch was standing on the pavement. The queen screamed "nooo," and ran after the witch. She begged on her knees, and asked for mercy, but the witch just told her: "You were too eager to listen to my demand. You overlooked Satelles, and wanted take his crown from him. And you lied." The king layed down on his knees, and begged her. The queen said: "Take my life instead. I beg you." Thewitch saw how unhappy and scared the royal parents were, but she didn't care. "Your life my queen, isn't worth anything for me," said the witch. "You took his title to let it burn, but in 20 years from now the real king shall return," the witch screamed and jumped out in the air, and flew away with Satelles laying in a basket.

No one knew where the witch flew, and no one had ever seen Satelles since. Ever since Satelles were kidnapped, the queen lost her voice, and had never spoken since. The witch cursed her, so she couldn't speak, without the feeling of 100 knives stabbing her. The curse would only be broken, when she found Satelles and made him the king. But she only had one chance to get it right, or the kingdom would fall.

20 years later the kingdom was as it always was. The queen still walked in the city, and met her people. But she didn't speak. The king on the other hand, isolated himself, and you only saw him on a big event. Some people in the city had forgotten how their king looked. Right in the middle of the town, was there build a picture of the royal family. Every week the queen went to the picture, and placed a candle on fire, in hope of Satelles return.
