"Don't you understand? We're mates. We belong together" He pleaded.

"You expect me to believe this crap? Leave me alone" Ignoring his hurt gaze, I turned and began to walk away. Before I could get even two steps away from him, my wrist was yanked back and I was harshly slammed against the nearest wall. I winced and moaned in pain when my head hit the wall with a dull thunk.

"Yes. I do. And I expect you to look at me when I'm talking to you." He growled in my ear. My breath hitched as he backed away only to lean back in again, this time staring at my lips. My mind reeled trying to think up any possible escapes as his musky cologne tickled my nose, messing up my train of thought.

Blinking, I snapped out of my haze and immediately turned my face. I ducked down out of his grip and glared at him.

"You know what, you're crazy. What the hell do you mean by mates anyway? Like werewolves and shit?" I let out a cruel bark of laughter before returning to my previous stance, "Mates don't exist, dumbass."
