"O conspiracy! Sham'st thou to show thy dangerous brow by night, When evils are most free?"- Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.

EIGHT YEARS LATER

Adrien stretched out, his fingers grasping around the sheets as the sunlight hit his eyes. He looked over to see a woman laying beside him, and vaguely tried to remember her name. With no recollection, he stood up and looked out the window. The streets of New Orleans, Louisiana were alive currently, though it was early. Adrien had only come to America a week ago, but since then, he'd had three photoshoots, and many, many drinks.

Before America, it was Brazil, before Brazil, it was Australia, before Australia it was Antarctica, before Antarctica, and so fourth. All he had done for the past two years was expand his modeling career. There was a soft knock on the door, and Nathalie entered,"Adrien, you have a call." Nathalie was not even taken aback by Adrien's nakedness, and simply handed him the phone. Adrien nodded a thank-you.

"Hello, this is Adrien Agreste speaking."
"Adrien."the voice of his father greeted him,"How have you been?"

"Oh, father... I am well."Adrien shrugged it off, and leaned against the windowsill,"As I recall, we haven't spoken since Beijing...Last Christmas."
"Adrien, as I said at Christmas, our new building, Agreste Tower, is opening soon. I would greatly appreciate it if you would consider coming back to Paris, just for a little while."

Adrien looked at the sleeping forgettable woman, then out the window, and then at the ring on his finger,"You know... I think I'll consider it."

Meanwhile, in the streets of Paris

Marinette smiled in the mirror, and did a tiny dance. Eight years ago, when she was sixteen, she had been in a near-fatal accident... and that gave her a wakeup call. No more letting people walk on her, no more being scared to speak her mind!

The memory of confronting her parents came back...

"Maman, Papa... Can I ask you something?"she asked, looking at the table.

Tom Dupain looked at his wife, then over at Marinette, smiling,"Of course, sweetie!"

She swallowed hard,"Would you still love me if I didn't want to take over the bakery one day like you always planned?"

Tom choked on his food, while his wife simply snorted,"Marinette! We could never stop loving you! We always knew your heart wasn't in it!"

"Our little designer,"Tom's eyes glinted.

Marinette grinned at the memory, and laughed. The next day, her father enrolled her in the designing class at a nearby art program for afterschool.
"Oh Mari~" a voice called from the other room. She stepped into the living room, and saw Nino and Alya beaming over a plate of pancakes,"It's our little babies first day of her first big girl job!"

Nino wiped at his eyes,"You made Mommy so proud!"

Marinette rolled her eyes,"Why don't you guys have actual kids? You've been married for two years now, it's about time isn't it?"
"Pssh! You're enough excitement for us!"Alya laughed,"Today is full of events! You start your new job, Nino got a gig at the new NOE club tonight, which by the way we are going to tonight,  and I have an interview with Gabriel and Adrien Agreste!!!"

Marinette choked on her pancake,"A-A-Adrien?"
"Oh yeah! You used to have a ginormous crush on him didn't you?"Nino giggled.
"No!"Marinette turned bright red, but Alya nodded.
