Reckless demons in my head
Contorting my mind to my wits end
Reckless demons playing human
Relentless torture to one young woman
Reckless demons haunting me
Relentlessly attacking me

They make me live a life of fake smiles
Running my mind palace for thousands of miles
Their reckless behaviour shattered my life
Investigating thoroughly they destroy it with their knife
They changed my life to where true happiness is a thing in the past
My true smile forever stuck on an eight year old girl that didn't last

Placed on a wall, in a portrait of her standing in a field
The wall worn down from being used as a shield
A shield from all the demons crawling behind her eyes that only ever shone when she cried
The glass in the frame cracked- almost shattered- from the ones who lied
The ones who abandoned her as they opened the door shaped as a clock,
Added to the number who left and let the demons in through a door she had forgotten to lock

And with that she turned to her oh-so "trusty" blade
Oh, how painful it was that everyone believed her facade
And although she wore smiles during the day, she wore tears during the night
And although she was young she learned how to fight
She had wiped her tears and went with majority vote, doing as everyone told,
That night her life was going to fold

And right as the light was going to fully leave
The angels began to weave
Their songs that rang so bright
Had rightfully brought back her light
With the reckless demons finally gone
I had finally begun to sing my song
