The doors hummed open. I've found that, over the years, the sound of those doors humming open has inspired a sense of dread inside my heart. My arm was still a bit buggy, but that was relatively normal, especially after having it repaired only a few hours ago. Still, my constant reassurance of that fact didn't stop Saavi from watching it as she walked behind me. In all honesty, I believe I have more a reason to be afraid of her than she does of me.

"I'll tell you once, I'll tell you a thousand times. This arm is harmless." I said, holding it up and curing my fingers in.

"Yeah. That's not what I'm worried about. You could kill me with it and pretend it was a glitch, Android-"

"I prefer synthetic person." I snarled back at Saavi. She wasn't unlike others of her kind- extremely rude towards synthetics and cruel.

"You don't have preferences, you have programming."

"Then I'm programmed to prefer synthetic over the name of a old human brand of Iphone."

"You should honor them, they're the creatures you evolved from."

I shook my head. The best way to respond was the simply end the conversation, at that point. Soon, Another set of doors opened infront if us, and we were lead into a long room. It was shaped like an oval, and a similarly shaped table was inside of it. There were several different looking people at the table, a few with others standing behind them. Saavi gestured for me to go, and I moved accordingly behind two girls, Jal and Jel. They were twin model synthetics, but wore no cosmetics- they didn't even wear plastic to cover the plates of their face. That was rare to see- especially here, where all the other species representatives were dolled up and dressed formally.

Aside from me stood another girl, who was a real shocker to see in public. I knew her well, everyone in the room did. As she was probably the most important one there. Lillie was the one everyone was watching, sometimes with just the wonder that she'd ever be there- existing- here. She was the last of an entire species. Across from the twins, sat Marra, and behind her stood Dit. Dit had always been quiet, along with Jael, a shapeshifting lizard species, who sat in the seat beside her. I've never really known why Dit was there, as she never really spoke or even let us look at her, but due to gossip, I've managed to gather that she's most likely some sort of a service Android, due to her cosmetics- Marra's species didn't have cosmetics.

The meeting began as usual. Marra would introduce the topic, and the entire table would burst into arguments over the topic. These would last for hours.

Lillie would often busy herself talking to Dit. I wish I could join her, I've many times wished I could join her, however I'm constantly having to translate speech- there are at least three representatives here that no none of English or Binary. Though, It's not like anyone but the twins used Binary- infact I've never seen Dit use binary either.
Knowing Marra, she probably isn't allowed to.

The meeting isn't anything special. Representative talking about the plans of their state, updates on any possible threats, nothing that interesting. Except for the casual derogatory word thrown around here and there, the meeting is rather bland. As usual.

By the end of it I had been listening to Dit and Lillie's conversation about what Earth and Lmeria, Marra's planet, were like. I could tell I wasn't the only one listening, as Marra seemed to be listening to what Dit said about her planet, however their conversation was much more interesting then trade routes.
As soon as it officially ended, we were the first three out the door. Marra stayed to talk to then lizard woman next to her, while Dit followed me as I lead Lillie from the room. That's when we heard the bang.
