"You were alone, left out in the cold,

clinging to the ruin of your broken home."

When she was young, Hanako Tsuta believed that the sun shone everyday, even when the clouds hung overhead. She believed that light would always prevail through the night, and that home was a place with four walls and a roof overhead.

But one night her home was ruined, and she was forced to flee, engulfed in darkness. She and her sister watched as her parents were murdered, and it was only by the protection of her aunt and her lover that they escaped unscathed.

"Too lost and hurting to carry your load,

we all need someone to hold."

They found themselves in a village of sand, seeking refuge with a woman whose history with their clan ran deep and true.

It was in this village that Hanako met a little boy with red hair, hair that reminded her of the roses in her mother's garden. She found herself fascinated by him, and soon enough they forged the foundations of a relationship that would change their lives forever.

" Hear the fallen and lonely cry out:

'will you fix me up? will you show me hope?'

The end of the day and we're helpless.

Can you keep me close? Can you love me most?"

When she was young, Hanako learned that the sun had to give way to the night. She realized that one could not exist without the other, and that light must stand next to darkness in order to let the days pass.

And when she was even younger, she believed that home was a place with four walls and a roof overhead.

But as she got older, she learned that home doesn't necessarily have to be one  place.

It  can be found in a heart, in a smile, in a person.
