Theo Hardings ^^^^^
I approached the school doors slowly. My mum was absent again this morning, probably at the bar or maybe at work if I was lucky. Students were scattered in the halls, talking to their friends or grabbing books for their first class. I walked to the reception to get my schedule, being a new halfway through the year had made me even more nervous as I would be on the first day.
"Name?" The lady on the front desk asked.
"Charlotte Davidson."
"Here. First class is English." Her eyes never left her computer as she handed the paper to me. I walked off to the classroom where hell would begin. I hated English. I didn't understand the thing about poems or plays.
The classroom was pretty much full as I walked in. A couple seats were empty close to the back so I took my place as a few students gave me looks. I pulled my boks out my bag and sunk further into my seat as some other kids trudged in.
"Hey! T it's storegirl again." I heard a voice say from the doorway.
You have to be fucking kidding me.
I completely ignored him hoping if I did he would go away.
"Dang, she really doesn't want to be talked to. Nevermind. Hey, you. Kid with the funny glasses. Scram." Theo said looking at the nerdy boy sitting next to me. The boy's eyes widened as he realised Theo was talking to him. He took the seat next to me and plucked a pen out of pencil case.
"You are such an asshole." I said pulling my pen out of his hand and rolling my eyes.
"Girls kill to be sat next to me, babe." He said smugly.
"Yeah, I can see them dropping dead on the floor right now." I replied sarcastically looking around the room at the girl sneaking their eyes to his face.
I can see why. No. No. He is an asshole, asshole.
"Class, take your books out and read the next 4 chapters of set text, then write notes." The teacher said from the front. "Charlotte Davidson, would you like to introduce yourself to the class?"
"You seemed to do that just fine, Miss." I called out from the seat. A series of ooooohhs were made by the students around me. The teachers eyes narrowed on me, clearly getting pissed off at my comment.
"Miss Davidson, do you want any more work to do?" She said still standing up.
"I don't want to do this work, let alone anything else you set us."
She huffed and sat down in her seat obviously not wanting to get in argument. I could feel Theo's stare on me as I read the set text. He reached over grabbing my pen out of my hand, his fingers grazing mine as he did, send sparks up my arm. I shuddered as I closed my book, hoping he hadn't noticed. I heard the chuckle coming from his lips as I blushed.
RING......RING
I had never been so excited for lunch in my life. I had already been put through 4 shitty lessons in which I had already made an enemy. Chloe Boe. The schools slut and bully as I found out in Spanish.
^^^A couple hours earlier^^^
I walked into the Spanish, the only subject I really felt confident in. My Grandmother when she looked after me, only spoke Spanish to me. She told me it was because I would embrace my roots and it was also fun to curse at people. My mum was always out so Gran practically raised me until a couple years ago when my mother stepped back into my life.
Well partually really.
"I'm telling you, that Davidson chick dancing is a sight to see. It looks like she has never danced in her life." said a girl in a pound of orange coloured makeup which was 4 shades to dark.
"I saw her talking to Theo in English today. I can't believe she would do that to you." One of her minions said. The moment I walked in the room it fell silent. "Speaking of the devil."
My eyes scanned the room for a seat, my mind not giving a thought to what was being said.
"So, Charlotte I heard you got picked up by Theo last night?" The orange girl announced. I ignored her as I got out my stuff and started the work which was already written on the board. "I'm talking to you fat ass!"
"What do you want?" I said harshly.
"I want you to stay away from my boyfriend, slut."
"And who might that be?" I said back.
"You know who."
"Really, I knew it was the trash. You really compliment each other well, honey." I rolled my eyes and carried on working.
If only I could wrap my hand around her neck. Dios mío. (my god)
"Hola clase, puedo ver que algunos han comenzado a trabajar. Otros no tanto. Chloe siéntate y saca tus libros. Ahora Hoy...." The teacher walked in and gave me a warm smile as she started the lesson. (Hello class, I can see some have started on the work. Others not so much. Chloe sit down and get your books out. Now today....)
^^^End of Flashback^^^
I sat myself in the corner hoping not to get noticed. My thoughts were running wild.
How was I going to eat? I don't need to eat, I need to lose weight to get into dance school.
How am I going to pay for dance school? I will get a job, I'm sure I saw a job vacancy at the small diner next to the cinema.
I picked up my smashed phone and called the number for the diner.
"Hola, Eugenia's Diner. How can I help you?" A strong Spanish voice said on the line.
"Hi, Im Charlotte Davidson and I was wondering if you have a job vacancy?" I asked politely whilst pushing the gross meatloaf around with my fork.
"Ahh, yes we do. I can't give you the job over the phone but really need some help her. Would you like to come in when you are free?"
"Yes, I would like that very much." The man hung up after saying bye and I could help the smile on my face at the news that I might be able to earn some extra money.
