I woke up the next morning to jake crying. "What happened?" I said. "Erika,mom has been shot." "WHAT?" I said to him. "Who was it?" "I don't know I wasn't there. It was last night, she went outside to let ashton (our dog) out. The naibor described the shooter as blonde curly hair, with blue eyes, male, and about 5'10." He said to me. One person shot in my head "Jackson?" I said to myself. "Why would he shoot my family?" just because we broke up?" "Is that why he didn't edit his Instagram bio last night?" I think to myself. "Come on let's drive to the hospital" I said to jake. We both get in the car and drive off. "Who do you think did it?" Jackson asked. "I don't really know yet. Maybe..." "JACKSON" he said. We get to the hospital. "Hi we're Kim's kids. Can we see her?" I asked the receptionist. "Sure right this way." She said to me. "Mom are you ok?" I ask. "Yes, I just got shot in the foot. I'll be out by four this afternoon." she said. I pull out my phone and text Jackson. "what is wrong with you?" "hurting my family to get back at me for breaking up with you?" two minutes go by and I hear my phone go off. a text from Jackson. "Look Erika, I don't know what got into me. I was just gonna try to fix this at school today that's why I didn't change my bio." I don't reply. "Knock knock" I hear someone come in. It's two police officers holding Jackson. "What does he want?" he just wants to talk to you." Fine I said. Let's go outside. "Why did u do this?" I told you. He said to me. He stared at me for a minute. "Ok that's enough." A police officer said. Let's go Jackson. Your under arrest for the attempt of murder." The police officers grabbed his wrists and handcuffed him. I watched as they dragged him out of the hospital. "You see free." A nurse said to my mom. We get her stuff and walk out. The police argue with me about taking me and jake to school. But we finally go. Jake gets dropped off at the freshman hall and I get dropped off at the senior hall. I go to my locker and get my books for history. I walk to my classroom thinking about my mom. i open the door and look at my teacher. "Erika, hi. Take a seat." he said to me. "Hey what happened?" said Sarah. I will tell you on passing period. The final bell rung and I rushed out of the room and came up to Sarah. "My mom was shot by Jackson last night." I then looked up and saw a guy with light brown hair and brown eyes with a blue t shirt on and jeans. He looked familiar. I just couldn't figure out who it was.
