Tough Love

Chapter 1

** “I wanna stay up all night and jump around until we see the sun I wanna stay up all night and find a girl and tell her she's the one”**

I smacked my phone multiple times trying to press snooze without lifting my head. I had a long day ahead of me I was going to my cousin’s soccer game with my friend Stacy. I got my cloths ready for the day. I picked out a plain baize v neck and black skinny jeans with a pair of toms. Then hopped into the shower. The water hurt as is hit my back. I started singing as loud as I could What Makes You Beautiful until my little brother James telling me to be quite rudely interrupted me. *If you haven’t noticed I am a One Direction fan* I got out and straighten my hair a bit and did my best covering the bruise on my jaw.  I put a bit of mascara on. I never liked putting a lot of make up on the attention just made me nervous.

I ran downstairs hoping I wasn’t late to breakfast. Sounds weird huh? Well with 2 brothers and an older sister if you were late you barley got any food and it was always what nobody else wanted like the burnt pieces. I go to the kitchen to see that breakfast was never made. It wasn’t unusual my mom must have been sleeping still. I grabbed a bowl of cereal and headed for the living room. I was alone in my living room eating coco puffs. The silence felt nice. There wasn’t much noise because my dad, brother and older sister went to Ireland for 5 months. My dad was there for a business trip and my brother Bryan and sister Caitlin were coming back before school started.

I turned the tv on to see my favorite show was on, Drake and Josh. I started laughing when Josh ran over Oprah. My brother came into the living room with an apple and sat next to me. “You are extremely loud” he said a bit upset. He wasn’t much of a morning person. “I barley made a noise” I mumbled under my breath. We just continued watching Drake and Josh without saying another word. I felt my phone vibrating and checked to see who it was. It was my cousin Aiden.

“Hey. Ya I’ll head up right now. Ok ok. Is it ok if Stacy comes? Thanks bye”

I got up and grabbed my phone and some cash I had. “Where you going?” James asked. Oops I almost forgot to let someone know I was leaving I rushed into the living room telling him I was going to Aiden’s soccer game with Stacy. I told him firmly to let mom know. I ran out the door and hurried to Aidens’ house. He only lived a bit more than a block up my house.

Once I got into the house I let myself in as always. “Hi sweetie” my aunt said to me with a smile on her face.

“Hi thank you for taking me. My mom still sleeping.” I said

“Its fine” she replied

“Where’s Stacy?” Aiden said. He liked her but never admitted to it. Although I never knew why we are really close to each other we were the only cousins the same age so we always hung out.

I told him she was meeting us there as I did I saw a small smile come to his face. We all rushed into the car heading to the game.

We arrived at the soccer field where Aiden had his game. It didn’t seem like a long ride. I called Stacy to see where she was. She told me she was 2 minutes away witch meant 5. I waited for her while watching my cousin’s team warm up. I felt a hand land on my shoulder I jumped from the pain. “Why so jumpy? It’s just me” Stacy said while giggling. “I thought you were a maniac trying to steal my lip gloss” “Or a very gorgeous brunette that was hotter than the sun” she said referring to herself. We both broke out in laughter.

People started starring at us. Stacy didn’t care. She was really comfortable with herself not that I wasn’t. I was just not as much as her. She’s also very pretty and she knows it. She had long wavy brown, greenish eyes, and was average height. I had dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and was average height as well. We decided to walk around because we had no idea what was going on as usual. After about 10 minutes or so  we noticed that Aidens’ team wasn’t playing.  “Are they done” I asked. “Let’s go see” she replied. We walked over to his team. I was about to ask Aiden if they were done when this tall, tan, brown haired boy went up and was talking to Aiden. They wore the same jersey but he didn’t look familiar. I was cool with all the guys on Aiden’s team I knew them all. I went to many of his games. But this one boy I didn’t know.

I went to stand next to Aiden with Stacy. This boy noticed me and we made eye contact. I smiled at him as Aiden asked me something. I was still looking at this boy not paying attention to what Aiden was saying.  “What happened” Aiden said. I broke eye contact with the stranger and asked Aiden if his game was done. “No, not yet were just on half time. Oh yea this is a friend of mine he’s new on the team” Aiden said looking at his friend. “Hi, I’m Nicholas but people call me Nick” he said with an attractive voice. “Hi im Sarah and this is Stacy” I said pointing to the side of me thinking Stacy was next to me. I didn’t notice she left to talk to Aiden. I was so embarrassed; my cheeks were probably red as a tomato. I must of looked like an idiot pointing to nothing. We just stood there glancing at each other when were interrupted by a whistle. “I gotta go games about to begin” he said slowly stepping back. “K, good luck” I said a bit loudly for he was a couple steps away from me. I turned around looking for Stacy. I saw her walking away from Aiden and towards me. “You could of let me know you were leaving” I said while slapping her arm. “Sorry, me and Aiden just started talking. So who’s the new guy” she said quickly hoping I would ignore the part where she talks to Aiden.

“His names Nick and he seems nice. What you and Aden talk about”

“He asked if we wanted to go the movies with him and his friends tomorrow”

“Well I don’t think I’m doing anything tomorrow”

“Then can I sleep over ” she said. I then noticed she was starring at Aiden.

“Yea sure.” I said checking my phone. I saw I got a text from Cody. I was nervous about what it was going to say.

From Cody: You coming over tonight?

I called him telling him I couldn’t go but he didn’t take no for an answer. I kept trying to tell him Stacy was with me and he kept saying to bring her with me. I couldn’t find excuse to not go so I gave in.

“Ey, is it cool if we go to Codys house today for a while?” I asked hoping she would be cool with it. She didn’t really like Cody.

“Yea, sure but just for a bit” she said with a straight face.
