Um hey guys. So don’t judge me this is my first story and I started this off with a dream then daydreaming and wah-laa wattpad. I am not a good editor so please bear with me.  Anyway hope you enjoy

Chapter 1

“We can’t both become the same pawn that’s made to fall oil that tastes like blood stole the summer scent from me to..”, my alarm sang from my phone as I groggily woke up deciding that the other five snoozes were enough.

As I grabbed my toiletries from my dully-colored room I noticed that it was eerily quiet. Huh, I thought as I stepped out into the small, darkly-lit hallway. Some type of light would usually be on by the time I woke up or Jose would noisily get ready for work, which wasn’t the case since he didn’t work today. I guess my brother never came back from that party last night. . .

   Go figure.

I entered the small claustrophobic bathroom groaning out loud once I saw the large, dark hickey below my left ear on my neck on the old mirror. “Goddamn it.”, I seethed through my teeth. My mama is going to kill me if she sees this. I am going to bloody murder Ashton tonight.

I turned my head around not wanting to look at it anymore or I would get even more upset than what I already was. I slipped off my pajamas and turned the knobs to the temperature that I liked. The water slightly burned my skin as I entered the tub and stood right below the head shower.

I shampooed and conditioned my long, dark hair as I continued by scrubbing my body with my favorite body wash with my aloofa and rinsed. As I stood under the under the warm water I got accustomed to, I tried to remember what happened last night.

From what I could think of was the very inappropriate dancing and making out with Ashton. Trying to pull back Zuri from fights with guys who just simply looked at him for five seconds instead of what he called “mean-mugged”. Chelsea and Daniel influencing me to take another shot even if the previous one was “my last one”. Thank heaven my body would act weird sometimes because if not I would probably be throwing up right now instead of my mouth dying of thirst.

Once I shut off the shower I heard my cellphone’s loud ringtone. “Shit!” I yelled frantically. How long was I in the shower? I swiftly wrapped myself in a towel as I turned off the lights. No need for  making the electricity bill to go even more up. I practically ran towards my room nearly slipping in the process.

“Hello?” I breathed after I pressed the answer button on my cellphone.

“Let me guess you just got out of the shower? You know for someone who is good with numbers you really do have the worst timing.”  Alice’s husky voice criticized.

“Yeah, I was. I’m really sorry it’s ju-“  I pleaded but she cut me off.

“It’s okay. Just making sure you were awake but get here as soon as possible.” she said honestly.

“Alright I’ll be there as soon as I can.” I answered only hearing the click of her hanging up. Well goodbye to you, too, I thought sarcastically.

Slipping that out of mind I quickly got dressed into my undergarments and a pair of loose sweatpants and a white V-neck shirt. I slipped on my tattered vans as I grabbed my phone, keys and wallet. Stuffing my wallet and phone in my pockets as I walked towards my door.

Turning off the light and closing the door of my room I walked towards the kitchen and grabbed the last cold water bottle from the refrigerator. Yes, I thought happily. As far as I knew I was the only person that actually enjoyed drinking water and a lot of it at that.

Fortunately the front doors were in the kitchen so I didn’t have to run. I opened the door automatically feeling Texas’s scorching summer heat. I rapidly walked onto my porch and hastily locked the doors and jogged of towards my 2002 black Lexus. Unlocking the driver’s door and taking my seat as I turned on the car to put the A/C on full blast. I grabbed my contact lens case from the glove compartment and practically popped them suckers out of my eyes as I put them back in the case. Grabbing a scrunchy and putting my damp hair into a ponytail. I snatched my big, black, nerdy glasses with a hello kitty bow on the left corner on the left lens and put them on. People were always surprised when I would tell them that they were prescribed.

As I pulled out of driveway I remembered when I first got this car a few months back. I was so ecstatic at the time. Sure it wasn’t a newly released model but the engine worked great. And so did the A/C and heater considering where I live. I just got extra lucky since the windows were heavily tinted so the sun never incinerated my skin.

Usually it would have taken me a fifty-minute drive towards Alice’s house but overtime I got rid of the fear of driving on the freeway. So now it took me approximately twenty-five minutes.

When I pulled up to her street it brought back memories when I first saw the typical suburbia neighborhood. Smooth sidewalks as if they were paved a week ago. Professionally cut front yards and none of the lawns grass were dead considering the harsh winter. All the houses were various structures from large, two-story houses to wide, single-story wrap-around porches. Funny how it’s not even an hour drive and you can tell automatically tell the differences between her neighborhood and mine.

As I was brought back out of my memories I pulled up to Alice’s driveway and parked. I chugged down the rest of the water bottle as I got out of the car and walked towards her front door. I didn’t have to wait long after I rang her doorbell.

“Took you long enough.”  Alice said playfully, smiling.

“What’s the rush?”  I asked as I entered her hallway and followed her to the spacious living room.

I had always wondered why she would get a big house if she was going to be living alone. Not that she was ugly or anything she was actually very beautiful with her tall and slender frame with long dirty blonde wavy hair and bright green eyes.

She sat down on the large couch as I sat across from her on the matching love seat couch.

“Well you know how I’d like to keep certain parts of my life private?” she asked looking at me nervously. Alice never liked to show her face to others whenever it came to business. That’s probably why she never attended her any of her meetings; it was always by an untraceable phone line. She made sure only people she fully trusted knew who she actually was, a drug cartel heiress. Me, being one of the few people that knew.

“Yeah?” I said. Already getting anxious because the Alice Gettysburg was never nervous… until now.

“Well a business partner of mine sold me a private property in order for my deliveries to arrive more safely.” She said.

“But?”  I asked my palms sweating.

“But,”  she sighed,  “He would like for me to personally give him the transaction money?”

My eyebrows rose now understanding why she was so nervous. “But what does that have to do with me?”

“Well,”  She sighed again,  “I told him that I couldn’t go due to personal reasons but that I could get a very trusted acquaintance of mine to deliver it.”

“And what did he say?”  I whispered afraid of what she was going to say next.

“He said he understood and agreed on it to make whatever means possible to make our transaction more comfortable. And by the look on you face you already know what I’m going to ask you.”

Regretfully, I did as I nodded and stomach drop at the same time.
