Cured

Chapter 2

The next morning, Whizzer was the first to wake up. He slowly turned onto his side, careful not to wake Marvin up, and began to sit up. 

A hand grabbed his arm and gently pulled him back down, "Marvin, We have to get up, I want to go home..." Whizzer told the male, who let go of his arm. 

Whizzer sat back up then Marvin sat up slowly and laid his head on Whizzer's shoulder, wrapping his arms around his waist.

The doctor walked in and noticed the couple awake and smiled at them, "Morning, how are you feeling, Whizzer?" 

"Better than I have in the past couple of months actually" Whizzer responded, swinging his legs over the side of the hospital bed.

"That's good to hear, you guys are able to leave once you finish a bit of paperwork" he said, placing a clipboard on the bed, "Once it's down, you're free to leave." he said and, after receiving a nod from Whizzer, left. 

Whizzer leaned over and picked the clipboard up to look at it, Marvin adjusting his head on Whizzer's neck. 

"You're almost able to go home, Whizzer" Marvin smiled as they began going through the papers

When Marvin arrived at his house with Whizzer, Jason came running of a room to meet his dad, only to stop when he saw Whizzer. 

A smile formed on the boys face before he ran to Whizzer and hugged him tightly. 

"Hey, Jason.." Whizzer said quietly, a small smile appearing on his face as he hugged back. 

Jason moved back and looked at Whizzer, "So are you okay now?" he asked and Whizzer nodded in response. Jason's smile grew and he jumped up in down slightly in excitement then hugged Whizzer again. 

Whizzer chuckled a bit and stood up after Jason stopped hugging him. He looked over at Marvin, who was leaning against a door frame and watching the two with a smile on his face. 

"We should go somewhere. All three of us should" Whizzer suggested happily. 

"Where to?" Marvin moved away from the doorway and walked over to Whizzer

"Hm...ice cream?" He looked at Jason, who nodded quickly in agreement, then at Marvin. 

"Alright, sounds like a plan" Marvin chuckled as Jason quickly went to put his shoes on and went back to the two men. "Ready?" Both of them nod to Marvin and they leave the house to go get ice cream.

They walked back into the house after getting ice cream, Whizzer carrying Jason. When Marvin turned the light on, it revealed Trina, Mendel, Cordelia, and Charlotte in the room.

Charlotte smiled and walked up to Whizzer, "I heard what happened and...it's a miracle, Whizzer..." She hugged him tightly then moved away for the rest of them to give him a hug.

When everyone finished talking to Whizzer, Marvin came up beside him and wrapped his arm around the man's waist.

"Welcome home" He whispered to Whizzer and kissed the side of his head.

"Let's get this party started! Come on, Whizzer!" Cordelia yelled over to the two.

"Go on, Charlotte and I are gonna go grab some things and we'll be right back, Okay?" Marvin told Whizzer, who nodded and kissed Marvin before walking over to the group.

Charlotte walked over to Marvin with a big grin on her face, "Ready?"

"I hope so..." Marvin gave a small smile and the two of them walked out of the house.

About an hour and a half later, Marvin and Charlotte walked into the house, carrying only one bag each containing a bit of food.

Cordelia and Whizzer walked up to them as they set the bags down,

"What took you guys so long? You only got two bags of stuff," Cordelia asked, confused.

"People take their time, I guess" Charlotte responded

"Just come on, you two need to party a bit." Cordelia said before grabbing both of their arms and dragging them to the group.

Jason ran over to Marvin, smiling.

"This is fun!" He said, causing Marvin to laugh. Whizzer wrapped his arms around Marvin and smiled. Marvin looked up at him and kissed him briefly.

Marvin pulled away from Whizzer, grabbing the male's hand, and walked to the front of the room. Charlotte followed and got everyone's attention as Marvin turned towards a highly confused Whizzer and took his hands.

"Whizzer...I know for a while our relationship was not stable...I'm sorry about that, but when it actually did stabilize, I thought we would have a happy life together. That hope faded when you were diagnosed with AIDS...I would not have been able to live without you. The experience of almost losing you made me realized I could not risk the best moments in life. When we were told you were cured, I knew exactly what I wanted, and had, to do. I knew I couldn't risk losing you again." A smile formed on his face as his grip tightened slightly on Whizzer's hands. "I knew I had to ask this: Whizzer Brown..." He let go off Whizzer's hands and got down on one knee, taking a small box from his pocket and opened it, revealing a silver ring with rainbow diamonds on it, "Will you marry me?"

Whizzer put his hands over his mouth, quickly nodding as he started tearing up. Marvin chuckled quietly and stood up. He gently took Whizzer's hand and placed the ring on his finger. Whizzer smiled, tears now falling down his face, and kissed Marvin.

Now, I understand gay marriage was illegal at this time, but that'll be... explained in the next chapter
