Discovering the truth

My name is Claire, and I am a demigod. You are thinking "Wow, that is so cool, you are living the best life ever!" That statement is false. Sure, most demigods have special powers and all, but that all comes with a price. We have to go out and save the world with our special powers. Anyway, enough about that, let's get on with the story.

It all started this summer when I was in my room. I sat down on my purple and white silk bed looking at my social media as I was bored. I received a text from Sophia if she, my other friends Olivia and Anna, and I could all go to the mall. We all said sure, but little did we know that trip would change our lives forever. I went to my closet and decided to wear a short top, shorts, sneakers, and let my hair loose. I saw my quiver, bow, and some arrows. After, I looked at myself in the mirror.

Looking back was a fourteen-year-old girl with a light skin tone, hazel eyes, rosy cheeks, and red lips. Looking good! I thought to myself. I then went downstairs, said bye to dad and left. First I walked to Sophia's house. We were at her house for two hours playing basketball, practicing archery, and saying tongue twisters like: "How can a clam cram in a clean cream can". After, we took the bus to the mall, but after we visited the mall, we got off the bus to get home, we spotted a hole covered with vines. The hole looked like there was light shining in it and out of curiosity we jumped in it.

There was light shining all around us as we fell deeper and deeper. "I am feeling so scared right now, I would do anything to get back home." said Sophia. "We all feel the same way Sophia, just have a bit of patience." said Olivia. At that moment we landed on something soft. "Is everyone okay?" I asked. "Yes we all are fine" replied Anna and Olivia. "I am okay but I broke a nail." said Sophia. We all rolled our eyes.

"Seriously Sophia, that is the least of our worries right now." said Anna. "Okay, okay I won't bring that up." said Sophia. Then what we saw next took our breaths away. There were fountains that overflowed with a yellowish thick liquid and skyscrapers glistening in the sun. The birds were chirping in a beautiful melody and the flowers were blooming everywhere. Beyond that were mountains, but the highest one was labeled Mt. Olympus. "What is this place?" I asked.

A sweet voice replied, "Welcome demigods, to the world of Greek Mythology." "Who are you and what are demigods?" asked Anna. "I am Hestia, the goddess of hearths. Before I answer any more questions, let's sit down." said the woman. So we sat down. "Yeah so the answers to your question Anna is, demigods have one godly parent either it is their mom or it is their dad. They are sort of like superheroes, they get missions to battle Greek monsters." said Hestia. "What?!" we all said at the same time. "Yes, Anna is the daughter of Hephaestus, the god of blacksmithing, Sophia is the daughter of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, Olivia is the daughter of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and Claire is the daughter of Artemis, the goddess of archery." said Hestia.

So that is why I loved archery and Sophia is cuckoo about her nails. "So I am guessing that you have a mission for us?" asked Olivia. "Yes, you will have to defeat the greatest titan monster, my father Kronos, but before that, you will be on a test, to prove that you are capable for this mission. You will be placed under a few tests. If you pass this quest is all yours, but if not, I will have to pass it on to someone else." said Hestia. We didn't utter a word. We all were thinking the same thing. Are we capable of passing this test, and carrying out our quest?
