I stared out the window on the third floor, in classroom B10. the day before, drenched the city in rain and left today musty, and damp. I tried to find a reason for this math class, right then it looked to be pretty pointless.

The teacher walked in, rocking his usual beige suit and baby blue tie. A boy with long, sleek, almost blue tinted hair fallowed in behind. I was intrigued. The teacher said something to the boy, and pointed to the seat one row over and down from me. I watched, making sure not to stare, as the boy took place at the seat, setting down a weirdly shaped backpack beside him.

The class payed no attention to this 'new boy', too busy staring at their phones.

"Alright class, pull out your text books. Chapter 8 page 236," Mr. Zap announced, adjusting his almost feminine glasses. I did, but I didn't do much ells, I was too busy admiring this new kid.

"OLIVIA GET YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE!" Gabe yelled up the stairs. An un-enthused grown sounded back. Consecutive thumps fallowed, until an annoyed Olivia appeared in the kitchen. "Thank you," Gabe said once Olivia stommped her way to the kitchen table.

I'd already been awake since 4:30, I was just quietly siting one the couch, stuffing serial in my face, trying to stay awake.

"Jesse, could you grab me the salt?" Jack asked, he was making breakfast for four, as well as lunches for three, all in one morning. And he was enjoying it. At least someone is sane this morning, I thought.

With sleep itching at the back of my eyes, I pulled my tired body off the couch and over to the spice cupboard. "Oh, could you grab the chives too?" Jack asked once I made my way over to the cupboard. I moaned an inaudible 'sure', and made my way to Jack at the stove.

"Ya'know, maybe you shouldn't have woken up at 4:30," Jack said taking the salt and chives, and sprinkling them over what looked like omelets.

"How did you-?" I tiredly spoke.

"I hear everything in this house, Jesse," Jack said ominously, with a smirk and went back to cooking.

"Kids, I have to go to work soon, come kiss your dad goodbye," Gabe said putting his coat on at the front door.

"Not a chance,"Olivia groaned from the table.

"I will," Jack said, walking over to Gabe and giving him a sweet kiss on the cheek. "Ugh," I sounded and turned away from them.

"You almost forgot your lunch," He said handing a paper bag to the other man.

"Thanks Hun. Okay, bye kids, see you later," Gabe said opening the door.

"Bye," Me and Olivia both said at once.

And he was gone.

"Jesse, come sit down, breakfast is ready," Jack said. I sat down opposite from Olivia, and plates filled with egg-y goodness where put in front of us. I took a bite.

"Mmh! Dish ish reary good!" I said with my mouth full.

"Ugh, close your mouth," Olivia said, disgusted.

"Thank you. And yes, please listen to your sister,"

The bell rang, signalling lunch break. As i made my way to the lunch room, I spotted the new guy. I sloppily jogged towards him.

"Hi," I said once I caught up to him.

"Hi," He said, almost confused as to why I was talking to him.

"I'm Jesse. Jesse Mcree," I said ignoring his confused expression.

"Hanzo. Hanzo Shammada," He said, and lost the confused expression for a guarded one. Or was that just his natural expression?

"Hanzo, huh? You must be one of those transfer students," I said trying to start a conversation.

"You are correct," He said.

"Oh! So you are new! You must not know where the lunch hall is, I can take you there if you'd like," I offered. I wanted to get to know this new kid- Hanzo, since everyone here sucked.

"Sure," He said, and I started walking in the way to the lunch hall, and Hanzo fallowed.

I don't know what it was about him, maybe it was his mysterious aura, that made me want to figure him out, but I know I needed to know him, for my sake and maybe his.
