EJ's POV
I sat on my bed, thinking about taking the risk of kissing Sage. She kissed back. I ran a hand through my brown hair and sighed. I flopped down on my pillow and pulled my scalpel out of my hoodie pocket. I looked at the sharp blade and saw my reflection. Just a blue, eyeless mask. I sat up again when my door flew open. Toby stood there, twitching and ticking.
"Toby? What's wrong?" I asked, standing up. Toby twirled his hatchets.
"You k-know she's m-mine." He stuttered angrily. I stared at him.
"Who?" I asked him, stepping closer.
"D-don't p-play dumb w-with me!" he yelled, twitching like crazy.
"Calm down! Use your breathing techniques!" I commanded and he took in deep breaths. In and out. In and out. He stopped twitching and his shoulders slumped. Then Sage peeked her gorgeous head into the doorway and Toby spun around to see her. She smiled and looked at the both of us.
"You guys OK?" she asked, walking into my room. Toby twitched and ticked. Sage eyed him and he twirled his bloody hatchet. I smiled under my mask and nodded. Sage grinned at me and turned to leave but Toby grabbed her arm. She stopped and looked at him.
"Wassup Tobes?" she asked.
"Uhm... S-so... I-i was w-wondering if you wanna go o-on a k-killing, together?" he said and I glared at him. Sage smiled and nodded quickly.
"That sounds great!" she squealed and I mentally groaned.
Sage's POV
I was sitting on my bed, thinking about what had just happened, when I hear someone yelling. I jumped up and followed the voice to EJ's room. I looked inside and saw Toby and EJ staring at each other. Toby turned my way and I smiled.
"You guys OK?" I asked, walking into their room. Toby started twitching and ticking and EJ nodded quickly. I grinned at him and turned to leave, but something grabbed my arm. I stopped and looked back.
"Wassup Tobes?" I asked. He looked at me and I think he smiled.
Toby and I hit the streets, him twirling his hatchets and me gripping my butcher knife to my side. Tobes seemed very calm as we slipped through the shadows on the street. He pointed to a small house on the other side of the street and I nodded. We headed over, and opened the unlocked window. We found ourselves in a living room and we found the stairs. I climbed up them silently and into the first doorway. A young couple slept in the bed and I snuck over to the woman. I quickly slit her throat and cut off the man's head in one swift motion. I heard screams from the next room and ran into it. A girl Toby's age was fighting him. His hatchets were on the floor, and they were in a fist fight.
"Toby! Get the hell away from me!" she screamed. Toby pushed her against the wall and she hit it with a painful thud. I grabbed Tobes' hatchets and threw them at him. He caught them in mid air and started hacking away at the girl. He twitched uncontrollably and I put my hand on his shoulder.
"C'mon. We don't wanna get caught." I said softly. Toby nodded and we ran down the stairs, and back out of the window. We stopped in the forest and he turned to me.
"S-sage." He stuttered. I grinned at him and he pulled down his mouth gaurd. and took off his goggles. Ok, he was much cuter than I thought. I swallowed and he smiled at me. He came closer. Then he grabbed me and our lips met. I didn't kiss back for a moment, then he pulled away and I got lost in his chocolate orbs. I kissed him this time, our lips moving together. Then we were pulled apart by someone. It was EJ. He didn't have his mask on and he glared at Toby. Toby glared back. I bit my lip and put my gloved hand on EJ's shoulder. He tensed at my touch. He turned around quickly and got in my face.
"What?" he spat. I flinched.
"Look, I'm sorry." I said. He scoffed.
"Wow. OK, I'm fine with you making out with someone else right after I kiss you." He said sarcasticly. I frowned and crossed my arms.
"Why do you care so much?" I fired back. He looked shocked. Toby stood behind us and stared at me. I stared back.
"Because! We were friends way before you ever met this jerk..." he said, thumbing in the direction of Tobes. He snarled, then the next thing I know, Toby is punching EJ's face and they get into a fist fight. I watched them as they punched eachother.
"GUYS! STOP IT!" I screamed. The boys stopped suddenly and stared at me.
"I hate seeing you guys fight, so I'll choose!" I cried. I twirled my knife and Toby twitched. EJ crossed his arms over his nicely built chest. Toby smiled at me and my heart fluttered. They watched me as I thought about it. Truthfully, I think that Toby was a better choice. I felt that I could connect to him better. I stared at Tobes and EJ groaned. I stepped toward Toby and then ran up and hugged him. He twitched and ticked and I giggled.
"Sage. You are making a really bad choice." EJ snarled and I glared at him.
"N-no she's not." Toby growled and he smashed his lips against mine. I melted into the kiss and was sad when Toby pulled away.
"Shh..." he said, looking around. EJ was gone but I sensed someone watching us. I scanned the trees and was surprised when a girl maybe a year younger than me stepped out of the shadows. She was holding a young boy's hand. Toby twitched and stared at her. He pulled up his face mask and I gave him one of his hatchets.
"HI! My brother and I are lost! Can you help us?" the girl pleaded. I smiled sweetly.
"It's no use. You won't escape." I said and she looked at me in disgust. Toby walked up to her slowly and the little boy giggled. Toby cracked his neck and the girl was frozen in her tracks. Toby lifted up his bloody hatchet and I smiled at the girl's reaction.
"No... Please! My brother, he is to young to die!" she cried, and her brother started crying. Toby chuckled and brought his axe down on the puny human. She pushed the boy away from her and screamed out in pain as she was chopped up, her blood sparying on the nearby trees. The boy cried and I grabbed him before he could run away. I knelt down and stared at him. His teary eyes met mine and I grinned. My smile wilted when I saw his eyes. White pupil, black iris.
