Soon Clarissa entered the courtyard spotting the Peacock just before it disappeared, and Fleur came into view. "It is nearly nightfall, and I did not see you at supper. I was beginning to worry." The witch explained gently taking Clarissa's hands. "A Hogwarts Professor has been looking for you. I am not sure why."
"Looking for me? Why would a Hogwarts professor be looking for me?" Clarissa looked at Flear a bit confused. The event from earlier still played in her mind, and she wanted to get the vial in her jewelry box as soon as she could. It was rather advanced magic to pull a memory from your mind, so she didn't think anyone would be looking for it, but she still wanted it somewhere safe.
Pulling Fleur along to their room she explained how she needed to put a gift from Cedric into the box first. It was a lie of course, but her cousin didn't think much of it. Finally reaching her room Clarissa left Fleur at her door, quickly popping in, placing the vial in her jewelry box, locking it up, and rushing back out. "Shall we see what the Professor needs?" She asked smiling.
"Actually Clarissa, she just wants you. Gabrielle was asked to go as well. I am not sure where." Fleur explained leading Clarissa back to the door. "Perhaps she will return to fetch you?" As if on cue there was a knock at the door. Opening it up revealed a rather short professor. "Professor McGonagall has asked me to see if Clarissa is back yet?" He asked looking between the girls.
"I am she." Clarissa smiled softly stepping forward.
"Ah, wonderful. I am Profesor Flitwick. Please follow me." Without another word, the professor began totaling off.
"Sorry sir, but where are we going?" Clarissa asked quickly catching up with the man.
"You will see. Come along." Professor Flitwick instructed
Clarissa was slightly frustrated by the lack of information. First of all, she is being led who knows where, by a professor, she just met. To do what? Was this some sort of joke? The whole point of the tournament is international friendships, and right now she did not feel safe, or friendly. It to her is a rather strange uncomfortable circumstance. It was a simple question. Soon enough her worries were set aside slightly as who she could only guess was McGonagall came into view. However, she was not alone. Ron, Hermione, and Gabrielle were all standing next to the water's edge. Somehow seeing them both eased her worry, and put her more on edge.
Clarissa went to stand next to Hermione, but before she had a chance to ask what in Merlin's name was going on McGonagall began to speak.
"Oh good, you are all here. Well, I am sure you would like to know why you are here. The Merpeople are to take something important from each champion. You are that something special. Mr. Weasley, you are Mr. Potters. Ms. Granger, you are Mr. Krums. Ms. Delacour, for Ms. Delacor, and of course Ms. Dubois for Mr. Diggory. I will be casting a simple charm on you before the Merpeople will take you to the location. Tomorrow is the second task, and the Champions will come to find you. Do not worry. The charm is completely harmless. In fact, you will not remember a thing. Most likely you will forget most of this conversation. Perhaps the last hour." The professor seemed to realize something before continuing. "Does anyone need to write something down before we proceed? Don't want you all to forget a homework assignment."
Hermione took the paper offered before beginning to write not wanting to forget a thing. She was the only one. Both Ron, and Gabrielle said nothing of extreme importance had happened. As for Clarissa. Her memories were tucked away safely in her Jewelry box. So she to declined the offer.
"Right well. You will not wake up till your heads are above the surface of the water, and yes the charm helps you breathe underwater." The witch pulled out her wand instructing everyone to stand in a line near the water's edge. Clarissa couldn't help her raising heart. She was extremely nervous. What if it didn't work. What if she was awake under there. The thought was terrifying. It would feel suffocating, but she would be able to breathe? The blonde was far too tired for her mind to grasp the complexity of the spell. Her mind was torn away from her thoughts. Splash. Looking over she noticed Ron being dragged under the water by terrifying creatures. She hadn't even noticed the Merepepole were there till right now. Another splash as Gabrielle falls into the water.
"Professor isn't it dangerous enough these games? Why are you dragging more underage students into it? What if the champions don't get to us in time? How will we get out?" The panic rang clear in Clarissa's words as she looked at Hermoine, then McGonagall.
"Relax. It is perfectly safe, and we have a way to retrieve you just in case, but do not worry. Nothing will go wrong dear." The professor assured her as Hermoine too fell back into the water.
Feeling as though she had no choice Clarissa nodded. She then felt the stranges feeling as if she was flying then nothing, as the sound of water splashed around her.
