Kat's POV
Dressing in some pajama pants and a tank top, I crawled into bed, turning out the bright lamp next to me. The room was quiet as I brought the covers up to my chin. My eyes slowly closed on their own as I drifted into a deep sleep.
'KNOCK KNOCK'.
My eyes bursted open, sitting up abruptly. I looked around, scrambling for my glasses. Placing them on my face, I dragged myself over to the door, opening it rather quickly.
"Yes?" I asked through my clenched teeth. Gaara was standing in front of my doorway clutching a small panda stuffed animal. He rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand. "Gaara, what's wrong?" I asked, my face softening.
"I can't sleep," He mumbled. "I'm not used to sleeping in a room alone." I opened the door wider, letting him in. His feet shuffled softly past my door and towards my bed. I walked over, climbing in. I patted the space next to me.
"Come on, the bed will get cold." He nodded, gently laying down next to me. I took off my glasses, putting them next to my lamp. I curled into a ball, leaning against his chest. "Goodnight Gaara." I whispered before slowly passing out.
I woke to find something tickling my neck. Slowly sitting up, I look down to see Gaara snuggled tight against me, his face relaxed and his mouth slightly agape. I gave a soft chuckle, placing a kiss on his cheek. Stretching my legs, I dangled them over the side of the bed and stood up groggily. I walked towards my door, opening it. I was met with a cheery, yellow eyed, pale skinned, black haired male beaming a smile back at me. I slammed the door back into his face.
"Kat, are you okay?" Gaara asked, worried. I shooed him off with one hand, pressing my ear against the door. I could hear his faint breathing on the other side. "Who is it?" Gaara questioned. I faced him, shaking my head. The door handle slowly turned. I pushed all my weight against the door.
"The hell you're coming into my room, you know it's off limits." I snapped. A muffled answer vibrated through the door. "No! I told you, off limits. And I specifically said not to come out until he left, so that means you owe me now." The shoving stopped, allowing me to catch my breath. Bad idea. The door busted open, flying next to me. "Get out now!" I growled, pointing in the opposite direction.
"But honey, you know how I love when your friends come over." He spoke with a sinister smile. "And it's a boy? Is he your boyfriend? My little girl is already growing up." I flung the door back in his face. He fell to the floor.
"Get lost you prick." I snapped, flipping him off. I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. An unsettling silence fell upon the room. "Sorry for him, that's my dad." I said, sitting on the bed next to Gaara.
"But I thought your dad died a long time ago." He questioned. I nodded.
"That was my adoptive dad. And the woman you met was my adoptive mom. That man," I pointed to the man laying on the floor rubbing his head. "Is my real dad. His name is Orochimaru, but just call him whatever you want." A pout spread across my dad's face.
"Hey, don't you say that." He mumbled. "It's great to finally meet my daughter's first boyfriend!" He cheered. My eyes widened.
"Shut the hell up you douche!!!" I snarled, throwing the closest thing at him, which happened to be my lamp. He held his hands up to resist the flying object.
"You've never had a boyfriend before?" Gaara asked. I slowly nodded, embarrassed. "Well, I'm glad I can be your first." A blush dusted across my face.
"I lived with my dad until my second year of high school. Before living with my adoptive family, my dad was super strict on what I could and couldn't do." I glared at the man. "And he never allowed me to have any male friends. Backfired though, cause that's all I knew how to do. I was soon friends with all the guys in the school. He'd threaten any guy he could get his hands on." Tears streamed down his face.
