Skylar POV:

I walked down the hallway and entered the room. As soon as I walked in I saw Betty and Jughead making out. Even though they pulled apart right when I came in, that split second has already scarred me for life.

"Have you ever heard of putting a sock on the door" I said with my eyebrows raised.

"Sorry things just kind of got ... a little heated" Jughead tried desperately to explain. Betty looked very embarrassed.

"Well it's a good thing I came when I did because otherwise all those papers on the table would be smushed."

"Ya. Anyways, how about we start the meeting" Betty said.

"Sounds like a good idea"

"Okay so here's what we have so far" Jug informed me on this so called black hood who shot Archie's dad. They think it will be their next big story. They were going to go to Pop's and investigate what happened. Meanwhile, they wanted me to go down the the Sheriff's station and possibly take some pictures of the evidence found at the scene.

"Okay I'll go tomorrow and see if I can use my art of persuasion to skillfully fool the officers so I can easily snap some shots" I said with my awful british accent.

"Thats some big talk coming from someone who literally hasn't even started journalism" Jug commented.

"You just watch. I might have some tricks up my sleeve"

The meeting ended and Jug took me back to my trailer. Today has been a very busy day. When I got home, I was so tired I just wanted to crash on the bed and sleep until the end of days. However, I didn't even make it to my bed. I made it to the couch and fell asleep. I woke up in the morning all groggy and confused. I looked at my phone. Oh crap I overslept. Jug's going to be ready in five minutes.  I rushed to the bathroom to brush my teeth, change, fix my hair, and apply a bit of make up. He called me as I was putting on my black jeans. I staggered outside the door still buttoning my jeans, and I made it right on time. We drove to school.

Jug and I parted ways when we go there. I went to the student lounge to catch up on my homework and listen to music. Once I finished I took a look at my photography project. I should start looking for a muse. But who? Maybe I should do Troy. Nah, he's not that inspiring. While I was trying to think, Kevin tapped my shoulder. I took my headphones out.

"Hey what's up?"

"Nothing much, you want to hang out and maybe have some old school classic girl talk" he said, looking a little too eager.

"Um sure" He pulled up a chair and starting bombarding me with questions.

"So how long have you lived here, what do you like to do for fun, where do you hangout after school"

"Calm down Kevin. What's with all the questions?" I asked

"I just want to get to know you better because I feel like we'll be hanging out a lot more"

"Really"

"Of course. We like you a lot. Plus we need a new face in the group. Things are getting too depressing."

I suddenly felt a warmth inside. I've never been validated like this so it feels good that they want to hang out more.

"Oh why didn't you just say so. I've lived in Riverdale my whole life. My main hobby is photography, but I also love to play piano and dance. And just like everyone else, I hangout at Pop's"

"I think you're going to fit in just fine"

"I couldn't agree more" We started to talk, I should probably say gossip (realizing that Kevin likes to do that a lot). Then we moved on to funny stories. By the end, we were laughing so hard we were getting a couple of stares from other people. Then his face shifted a little. I could see his hardly noticeable devious smile poke out.

"Why are you looking at me like that"

"We've talked about practically everything except for ..."

"Except for what" I honestly had no idea what he was about to say.

"Do you like anyone" he blurted out.

"Oh my god what are you, eight years old"

"You're dodging the question"

"I am not. It's just a silly question"

"Who are you interested in?" he said very curiously.

"No one"

"Liar who is it"

"Ugh, I don't know if I'm actually interested in her yet but I'll keep you posted"

"It's a her:

"Yes"

"I knew you were bi"

"How do you know I'm bi, I could be gay"

"Are you gay"

"No"

"Well there you go. It's my superb gaydar"

"Ok you know what I think I've had enough of you today" I got up, put all my stuff into my backpack, and started to walk out the door.

"Your gonna miss me" he yelled out.

"Oh I know" I yelled back. I left the room and started heading towards my English class. That Kevin is one hell of a guy. But I think we're gonna be very close friends. I smiled as I headed into class. When I walked in, I went to sit next to Veronica and Betty. Cheryl was sitting on the other side of the room with all of her Vixen friends. The teacher started talking and assigned us poems to read and analyze for the rest of the period. About 45 minutes later, I looked up from my notebook and saw Cheryl staring at me. I quickly looked away, but she continued to stare. Something about her eyes beaming my way made me feel strange. I'm not exactly sure how to put it. I was a little anxious, but also intrigued. When I looked up again she wasn't staring at me anymore and that feeling was lost.

The bell rang and I gathered up my things and headed outside. Then, I felt someones hand on my arm. I turned around and it was Cheryl.

"Hi what are you-" She pulled me into a nearby supply closet before I could say something. She closed the door.

"Um as I was saying, what's up" I said with calm tone.

"Have you told anyone about what happened yesterday"

"Of course not"

"Good lets keep it that way. And if you tell anyone I can end your life right here, right now. Do you understand" I didn't expect her to return to her normal mean girl coverup so fast. I also didn't appreciate it. I thought I was comforting her but I guess that doesn't matter.

"First of all, I wasn't planning on telling anyone. Second, that's not exactly the nicest thing to say after I helped you out yesterday. Thirdly, you don't have to pull this bullshit on me because I know your just trying to keep up your reputation, but wake up Cheryl, you can't cover up reality with your harsh attitude.

She looked at me for what seemed like years with a death stare, But then I saw something that I didn't think I would. Her face slowly loosened up. She put her hand on her forehead like she was thinking of what to say. She took a deep breath. Then stared dead in the eyes at me once again.

"I'm sorry. I just can't have the entire school knowing that I cried in the bathroom. I just can't deal with their stupid gossip right now."

"I get it. You're going through some tough stuff right now"

"How do you know I'm going through tough stuff"

"Well you were crying. And would it be ironic if I said gossip"

She let out a small laugh because of her disbelief.

"I think it is"she said.

"But seriously, if you need someone to talk to, I don't mind listening to your problems. And I promise it will just be between us"

"I might take you up on that offer. You're Skylar Woods right?"

"That's me"

"See you around Skylar" She walked out of the closet. I stayed there for another ten minutes trying to figure out what happened. Man is today a crazy day.
