I put the crusts of my toast in the bin and sat on my bed staring at my wardrobe. There was one advantage of this new school. No school uniform. However this presented a problem in myself as I couldn't decide what to wear. I didn't want to be too dressy but I didn't want to look like i didn't care. Which I don't but being first day and all i wanted people to have no reason to come into contact with me

I took my hoodie off an threw towards my door. I picked out a pair of skinny jeans, a purple t-shirt, a grey hoodie and my white converses. I looked at myself in thew mirror. Well it's as good as its gonna get I thought. I sat at my dresser and brushed through my messy brown hair. I planned to to do a really nice braid but i ended up going for the old messy bun as my hair would just not co operate.

After brushing my teeth I did my make up and and put in some earrings. I always wore my mums necklace she got me for Christmas  two years ago. It was our last Christmas with dad. It was the last day we were all truly happy to be with each other. I shock the thought form my mind. I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs.

Mum was ready and waiting her coffee mug and her uniform in a bag. She had been promoted to head chef in an high class restaurant. I could tell she was eager to get started. "Come on then. Let's go." she said heading for the door leaving me to lock up.

The car ride was almost unbearable. The silence was hard to bear but there was nothing i could say that wouldn't sound out of place and mum must of felt the same. It wasn't until the school came into view that i broke the silence. "This is it." I said disapprovingly. I didn't mean to it was just abit  different to what i thought it would be like.

"Yes do you like it?" mum asked. I just nodded. "Apparently its one of the best in Dundee"  she continued like she was proud of it. For a moment we just sat there looking at it and the other students going in. "Well what you waiting for?" mum pestered. I leaned in for a kiss an she kissed my cheek and i got out the car. I made for the main entrance when mum beeped and left while i was left to pretend that I dint know the person who's car i just came out of.

This school was small compared to my last school and the main office was easy to find. I got told by a stout and exuberant office person to sit in front the heads office and ill be attended to in a minute. The bell rang but i was quite happy to be by myself and not having to mingle straight away.

However that was quickly ruined by a small group of boys who walked past laughing. The tallest one wearing jeans and a t-shirt looked at me, looked me over and smiled. He was rough looking but not in a homeless way. In a more you don't want to be against me kinda way. The other boys didn't seem to see our little look exchange.

"And why are you not in class Mr Robertson?" The stout woman said stopping the boys in their tracks.

"We're just heading Mrs Jones. Keep your hair on." the tall boy said. A smirk had crept its way onto his face. "Hows that new diet coming along miss?" He said only to be chased away by her. I already hate this school.

"Miss Hamilton?" A voice asked from behind me. I turned to see a thin tall woman smartly dressed. I nodded and she ushered me into her office.
