It was Yuro. Yuro was going to be the hybrid that was taking care of her. She rubbed her eyes once, just to check, but he was still standing there. "Celia, I need to talk with you for a moment. Sorry Yuro, but could you go to the end of the room," Lori croaked. She could barely comprehend what was happening.

"Call me crazy, but is that actually Yuro that was standing right in front of me?" Lori asked, her voice low. Celia nodded vigorously. "Why is HE, my partner?" she hissed, watching him. Celia's smile grew even wider. "I thought it would cheer you up to get to know that you will be with him a lot," she exclaimed.

Lori smiled at the thought of her best friend trying to cheer her up, but she fell back, moaning in pain. Celia's smile disappeared and she twirled around to look at the screens set up beside of her. Her eyes widened. "Yuro, stay with her. I need to get the nurse," she gasped, running out of the room.

Yuro went to her side, watching her writhe in pain. She squirmed, letting out howls of dismay. He sadly watched her, for he couldn't' do a thing to help. The pain died down a bit, but she still had a look of discomfort on her face.

Lori felt her wings moving under her, and she knew they were about to fly out. She tried to contain them, but they inched out, slowly. Before she knew it, Yuro was standing over her, and helping keep her wings in place.

He was so close to her that she thought she would pass out. Soon, the nurse came rushing in and he slowly backed up, letting her in.

*********

Lori awoke to a light tapping on her shoulder. "What?" she mumbled. "Wake up, slowpoke. It's time. You can leave the hospital bed now and actually come back home," Celia said. Lori's eyes flew open. "Yay!" she said, sliding her feet out onto the floor.

She tried to stand, but she wobbled and was soon clutching Yuro's shirt. She let go, staring at the floor and thanked him. Slowly, but surely, she walked her way out of the room. Looking down, she noticed that she had an old nightgown on.

"Celia, when we get home, the first thing I am doing is changing into different clothes," she said. Celia nodded. "I've probably been in this since the incident happened, and it sounds like that was three weeks ago," she added.

When they got outside, she breathed in the fresh air. She shook out her wings and began to flap them, slowly at first, but it got faster and faster and flew into the air. She let out a caterwaul and twirled around.

Celia grinned and raced after her. Lori beat her to the tree. But she stopped short; Celia almost crashed into her. Instead of the joyous cries, they were crying sadly. Their home, their tree, was blasted to pieces.
