The Demon Hunters - Chapter 2

I did the same, seeing a young boy, probably a few years older than me, pointing a pistol in the now dead witches direction.

The clearing fell silent. The boy looked calm and collected as he lowered his pistol and looked at me.

"Are they bothering you, miss?" His voice was deeper an his question was directed at me.

"No, we're just-" Swiftly the boy fired his gun three times, perfectly hitting the witches, all in a different place. The three of them fell the the ground with the other witch, dead.

The boy took a step towards me, extending his hand.

"I'm Jarvis." He told me as I moved my hand to his.

"Jenaveve." I replied, shaking his hand. "Thank you." I nodded my head to him as I took me hand away.

"It's not a problem." He studied me carefully. I was embarrassed by this and looked down to hide my flushed cheeks. There was a moment of silence while he looked me up and down.

"What beings you here? And why were these witches after you?" He asked, watching me.

"They wanted my skin. I'm a lycan." He swiftly lifted his gun, aligning it with my forehead. I flinched, then stuttered "I...I don't hunt. Not like the others."

He pondered on this for a moment, narrowing his eyes at me.

"I can explain." I told him.

'Can I?' I thought.

'Can you?' My brain buzzed.
