This world that you live in, is full of dangerous things. It is filled with man-eating beasts, beasts that take the form of a human. Demon-like beasts. Almost everyday, there'd be a report on a dead person, who's body would be torn to pieces, or eaten to the very bones.

It was never safe to be out alone.

You are a 19 year old college student, who lives in a pretty decent apartment. Not too expensive or too cheap. You worked at a café that paid pretty good since it was quite popular in Tokyo. You walked into your kitchen and opened your refrigerator, only to find it empty. There was only a carton of milk, eggs, cheese, and that was pretty much it.

"Damn it... I've been starving myself to save money..." You took out your phone to check the time.

'7:15 PM'

People weren't allowed outside after 8, since that was when beasts would come out to prey on people. You grabbed your wallet and put on your shoes. "I hope I don't die..." You muttered under your breath. You've never encountered a beast before, but you were always alert when you were out late.

You walked out of your apartment room and down the hallway into the elevator. You clicked on the first floor, and waited. You hated taking the elevator, but it's faster than walking down the stairs.

Soon, the elevator 'dinged' and the doors opened. Ruffling your (h/c) hair, you walked into the lobby and outside to the chilly night. Even though you were living in the city, not very much people were out. Heck, there was barely any cars!
That's how scared people were of the beasts. You checked the time again.

'7:24 PM'

Putting your phone back into your pocket, you walked to the closest convenience store, which was only 10 minutes away. You soon reach the store and bought some food. Mainly ramen. After paying, you walked out and went on your way back to the apartment. As you were walking, you took out your phone once again to check the time.

'7:49 PM'

'Shit. I better hurry on home if I want to live...!' Picking up your pace, you looked around worriedly just in case there was any beasts.

Just as you reached the dark alleyway that you always dreaded when walking by it... You heard growling.

It wasn't like a dog's growl... It was deeper and you could feel the vibration of the growl. Stopping in your tracks, your heart skipped a beat. You turned to look at the alleyway. There was a dark figure, it looked like a human- but at the same time it didn't.

It was a beast.

It had horns on its head, and a long tail. It had glowing yellow eyes, and seemed to be really pale. It staggered towards you, reaching its claw-like hands at you. You gulped and stood still.

Your instincts told you to run, yet you couldn't. Your feet were stuck to the ground, unable to move. The beast finally reached you. It grinned devilishly, yet it seemed like a forced and tired one, and leaned towards your neck.

Instead of killing you, it whispered in a strange language. One you have never heard...

"...gliskt deuschtna..."

Suddenly, the beast fell onto you. You let out a shocked yelp as you fell down to the ground.
Landing on your bottom, you held onto the beast's shoulder and pushed him off your body. "Oh god... what the hell..." You stared at the beast's face.

Blood was stained onto your gray hoodie.
"I can't just leave him to die... Even if he's a beast." you stood up and managed to get the beast to lean on your petite shoulders. You were a college student studying to be a doctor, and there was an oath you made that you'd save anyone's life regardless of their skin, religion, and background.

Somehow, you made it back to your apartment without being seen by anyone. You put your groceries into the dinner table, then you literally dragged the beast like human being to your bedroom and put him onto your bed. You lifted his black cape, and saw that all he wore was black skinny jeans, and that was it.

Getting up, you went to get your first aid kit. You've never used it before, but now it became pretty handy.

You cleaned his wound on the side of his stomach, which looked was a huge gash. It was a disgusting sight, but you managed through it.

Finally wrapping the bandage over his gash, you stood up and washed your hands, getting rid of the blood.

You came back into your room and grabbed a pillow and small blanket.

"I'll sleep in the living room for tonight..." you sighed tiredly.
Turning off the lights, as you made your way to the couch, you collapsed and fell into a deep sleep.
