Basketball was a good way to calm down his nerves; Kagami learnt it years ago. This time, however, it wasn't helping much. His mind would always drift back to this afternoon, during training.
"I'm Kuroko."
He wasn't a dream. He really saw Tetsuya back then. After all this time, wondering how he was doing-how they were doing. He wasn't expecting being in the same school as him out of all people. He admitted he was reluctant about meeting one of them, but there was no denying he was happy when he saw the invisible man, when he saw the look he sent him.
Tetsuya had recognized him and was probably just as happy as him.
But just as they could catch up, after practice, the boy had vanished in thin air.
That was the reason of his foul mood.
"That bastard..." Kagami grumbled, preparing to shoot a three-pointer. "When I get my hands on him, I'll kill him."
"If you do that, you'll be sent in prison." A voice said out of nowhere.
Kagami yelped in surprise and released the ball in an incredible speed. Of course, he missed his shot miserably. Angry as hell, he turned around and glared at the mop of light-blue head standing in front of him.
"Temme! Would you stop popping out of nowhere?!" He yelled.
Kuroko titled his head to the side. "But I was here the whole time." He dead-panned.
"Don't liar! I've been here for thirty minutes now."
"I've been on the bench since the last hour."
"Hah!? Why didn't you say a word, then?"
"...I didn't know what to say."
"ARE YOU SERIOUS!?"
Kagami looked like he was going to slay the boy in front of him when, suddenly, he brought the fragile boy in a bear hug.
Kuroko blinked twice at the gesture. "Kagami-kun?"
But the boy didn't reply. Instead, he brought Kuroko even closer to him, as if he was afraid the boy would disappear. With such a closed contact, Kuroko had no problem sensing the body against him trembling.
"Goddammit..." His voice was trembling as well. "It's been so long, Tetsuya."
Kuroko smiled lightly and closed his eyes. "Welcome back, Taiga-kun."

"No way! So you all got reunited in middle school?" Kagami laughed in disbelief, oblivious of the attention he was getting from the customers of Maji Burger with the noise he was making. The red head was too engrossed in eating and listening to Kuroko to pay attention to his surroundings.
Kuroko nodded, his milkshake straw in mouth. "Yes, it was a shocker when we saw one another."
"I can imagine." Kagami grinned whole-heartedly. "Are they still playing basketball too?"
"...Yes." Kuroko responded after a second of silence that Kagami didn't miss. "They became really strong. Their individual talents blossom to a unique ability that only they possess."
Kagami smiled softly; he had a hunch about that. "The Generation of Miracles, huh? Seijūrō sure didn't search far."
Both teenagers chuckled at the comment and felt in a contemplative silent, both reminiscing the real meaning behind that moniker, the intent that dwelled within.
"Anyway!" Kagami broke the silence. "What about you, Tetsuya? Did you finally find your basketball style?"
Kuroko blinked twice. "...Yes, during middle school."
