Chapter 2; Too Close

Present Day

"Hey mom, before I head off to school can you tell me the story again? The one about the princess and the vampire." Jade asks. She is now a sophomore and isn't allowed to have very many friends. Her mother doesn't trust anyone, as Jay is still out there. "Honey, I thought you forgot about that story," Mary starts freaking out, but smiles" what happened? What makes you want to hear it all of a sudden?" "Well it is my childhood bedtime story, and I just thought it wouldn't hurt to be heard again" Jade answers as she shrugs her shoulder.

"Don't you think you're a little too old for stories like that Jade?" Her mom asked" Yeah, I think you're kinda of right" and with that Jade headed out the door and walked her normal route to school. Not too far from Jade , there was someone or something lurking in the distance.

Jay's POV

I can feel it that I'm getting closer to the princess, but I don't know how ; she died years ago. Could it be that the princess has chosen one of her descendants for me to love? I should get a closer look.

I moved closer to this feeling and I saw a girl with long black hair in a hoodie and ripped jeans and red high top converses that caught my eyes. I was wondering if that was the one, so I decided to follow her for awhile.

What is Jay doing?! He has never came this close to people... Is he following someone. something's not right here, I have a strange feel about the things he's been up too lately. I might have to tell the others to keep a closer eye on Jay because this is really weird for him.

Later that day

Jade's POV

I usually don't stay out this late, It's midnight and I have a bad feeling about tonight. It feels different then most days, like something is watching me from the trees. I started to get scared and worried so I pick up the pace and eventually started to jog.

Jade's mom POV

I looked at the clock and it read 12:30 pm. I was getting worried, my daughter has never stayed out this late and if she did she would have texted me and tell me where she is. And if so to pick her up at a friends house. I hope Jay didn't find her, if she ever found out that he's real and I lied to her, I will be asked millions of questions of why i didn't tell her the truth. I just hope my little girl will be alright.

End of mom's POV

Jade continued to walk to her house in the dark until she sees a figure. A silhouette under a tree n the distance. I turn my head again and look, but the figure is no longer there. For a moment I just stand still until I felt a hand on my back, then I hear a voice demanding me to turn around. I slowly turn around and looked at the ground, I saw a pair of shoes then the deep voice told me to look up. I slowly look up at the figure; he was wearing ripped jeans and a basketball jersey, I also notice the many tattoos on his body, then I felt a hand grab my chin and force me to look into red piercing eyes.
