a story about a young girl named athena and a boy named leon.
but the way they met is so unusual.
here's how it all went down:

hi. umm so, i'm taida, the author and this isn't quite going to be my first book. it will be the first one that i take very seriously though. i'm trying ugh!!

"yeah, that's exactly what i told her. right! i perfectly agree with you! no, she's still asleep aren't you, athena."
were the words i had woken up to.
"no mom. i am not. thanks for that. who are you even talking to anyways?"
"honey it's just sal. have you packed your bags last night athena?"
"yeah, yeah, i did."
"sal" as in sally is practically my other parent. she's been here for my family for over a decade now, ever since i was a little kid. she's still here for us and i'm glad she is because honestly, we need her the most right now.
let me explain what's happening.
three months ago our stupid ass father almost made us bankrupt.
so mom did what she should have done years ago, signed the divorce papers, sold our old place and let our old man walk the streets.
you may think that's pretty cruel but he's been verbally abusing us all for years. we were sick of him.
she then decided that san francisco would be an amazing place for our three membered family, she told my brother and i to pack and now we're about to leave the hotel room we had rented for two weeks. we're just gonna get up and leave the city.
no regrets, no goodbyes, which honestly isn't even a problem since i wasn't really close to anyone here.
i snap back into reality heading to our little kitchen to grab something to eat. i choose to go with the classic, cereal, so i get out a bowl, pour the cereal into the bowl, cover it in milk and stick my spoon in.
as i get finished with eating, we're already about to leave.
"are you guys sure you packed everything with you?" asks mom.
"yes mom, we are sure. are you sure you aren't leaving your head behind?" says my brother, apollo.
(don't even ask why we're named after two greek gods)
"ha ha, very funny. no i'm serious have you guys checked everything?"
"yess, we have." apollo and i say in unison.
"alright then. our new life begins now, kids."
"let our new life begin." i say as i am prepared for anything to come my way.
let it begin.
