"for real?" maddie asked as she finished writing her last word on her paper.
"yes, for real. i still can't believe he freaking said to text him." i gushed over him.
"roniiiii, you like him." she said exaggerating my name.
i smiled to myself knowing it was true. i did like him. he's been on my mind lately. he was just so hot.
i scanned throughout the lunch area hoping i would see him somewhere. but no. i didn't.
"what about jason? how's it with him?" i asked pushing my shoulder against hers.
"i honestly don't know. i'm waiting for his reply on snapchat. i sent him a cute selfie of me since 9pm last night and he still hasn't replied." she sighed over her complation.
"what a litt-" i was interupted.
"veronica." i looked up to see josh there, standing with his school lunch in both hands.
my eyes widened.
"j.. j... j.. josh.." i quickly got up from my science textbook i sat on.
i walked up closer to him.
"how are you?" he asked me as his eyes twinkled.
"i'm.. i'm great, yeah, great." i nodded my head awkwardly hoping he would soon go away.
he wasn't exactly someone i wanted to speak to right now.
especially knowing ethan could be watching at any given moment.
i scanned throughout the campus not listening to anything josh was saying.
my heart raced.
ethan was seen from a far, standing against a tall, skinny tree with his sunglasses on.
though his attention was pointed at me, he couldn't be staring at just me. right?
"veronica.. were you even listening to anything i just said?" his face showed annoyance.
"i... i.. i gazed off. i'm so sorry." i said playing with just my left hand.
"i'm just gonna go. have a good day." he said walking away as quickly as possible.
i stood there staring back at the direction of ethan. which he wasn't in anymore.
"what the fuck.." i said walking back to maddie as she stayed close into her phone.
"who was that?" she smirked.
"to tell you the truth, i have no idea. he's name's josh, that's all i know." i went on to say.
"how do you know him? he's in your classes or what?" maddie asked locking her phone.
"no..." i said shortly.
"he's just.. on the first day of school, he.. i guess.. flirted? he's been at me since monday, i guess?" i was questioning every word that came out of my mouth.
"so he has a crush on you? ooooooooh." she teased.
"i'm not into him though. i swear." i rolled my eyes with a smile.
"cause you're into ethan." she teased again.
