Chapter 2
Katie’s P.O.V
I walk onto the stage and I am blinded by the lights and deafened by the sound of thousands of screaming girls. My heart starts beating faster and faster. I wanna run off stage and go back to my dressing room and lock the door but I’ve been waiting for this moment for too long just to ruin it because I’m a little nervous. I walk to the microphone and grab it with both hands but words won’t come out. I’m frozen. I start to shake and then I look to my left and see Justin standing in the wings of the stage. He’s looking straight at me. He smiles and mouths the words “deep breath” I watch him inhale and exhale slowly, then I do the same. We do it one more time in sync, then he smiles and nods his head. It’s crazy how this amazing guy that I’ve had a crush on forever but only known a short time can make me feel better in an instant. I turn back to the screaming girls and smile .
"Hi everyone, I’m Katie Lane. Is everyone having a goodnight?"
The crowd erupts in cheers and I can feel my confidence building.
"Well I know I just met all of you but we already have something in common. Do you wanna know what it is?"
Again they all scream.
"We are all here because of one special person. He is probably one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met and he’s a pretty good singer. So can you guys please help me thank him?"
The screaming continues and my shaking stops.
"Ok guys, on the count of three I want everyone to yell as loud as they can "Thank you Justin".
The crowd starts screaming again and I can’t help but laugh.
"Ready. 1……2…….3 THANK YOU JUSTIN."
I look to the sidelines and I see Justin holding out his phone filming the crowd. He has a huge smile on his face which in turn makes me smile. The crowd continues to scream and I have to yell into the microphone just to hear myself. “Thank you guys so much for helping me. Justin is truly a great guy and I can’t thank him enough for letting me join his tour.”
Just the mention of his name makes the crowd get even louder.
"Well I know you guys are probably ready to see him so I’m gonna go ahead and get started."
I look at Justin one more time and he is still smiling. I take the microphone off the stand and turn around to face the drummer. The music starts and my heart starts racing again. I start to sing.
"Can you feel it? Can you feel this moment? The best moment of your life."
